'In this system, the sex of an individual usually is determined by a pair of sex chromosomes. Typically, females have two of the same kind of sex chromosome (XX), and are called the homogametic sex. Males typically have two different kinds of sex chromosomes (XY), and are called the heterogametic sex.[1] In humans, the presence of the Y chromosome is responsible for triggering male development; in the absence of the Y chromosome, the fetus will undergo female development. There are various exceptions, such as individuals with Klinefelter syndrome (who have XXY chromosomes), Swyer syndrome (females with XY chromosomes), and XX male syndrome (de la Chapelle syndrome, males with XX chromosomes), however these exceptions are rare. In some instances, a seemingly normal female with a vagina, cervix, and ovaries has XY chromosomes, but the SRY gene has been shut down.[2][3] In most species with XY sex determination, an organism must have at least one X chromosome in order to survive.[4][5]'

Just because people are not wanting a poor woman to be bullied and harassed in shameful way she has does not mean they are against women?s sports. In fact the fact informed people are standing up for her is a brilliant example of solidarity for women in sports.

And you still haven't answered the question: Do you believe that Imane Khelif is female?
There is no belief, she either is or she isn't, even the people who complained at the Olympics have said they were wrong to say she was male! But if you are going to press me, yes I do believe she is female! What do you need to prove she is, her to undress in front of you?

I don't want anyone getting undressed in front of me, thank you. Take the cheek swab. That's all. If he's XX, I'll back down.
Which 'people' are you talking about that complained and then said they were wrong?
There are plenty of women still complaining!

Course he is! He's a cheating, IOC sponsored scumbag.
If you want a role model for women's boxing, I'll take Nicola Adams.

Btw the Italian boxer that sparked this by quitting is the one who said she was wrong to say Khalif is a man.

No, I'm not especially willing to take the word of the IBA. But I do wonder why these two particular boxers fell foul of their rules. What was it about these two? I wonder .....
The reasons that I suspect Khelif to be male is (a) he looks and acts like a male and (b) if he could prove he weren't he'd be waving the proof gleefully all over the place. I have to take a sex test to compete. Why won't he?
So, Angela Carini has backed down. Do you think there's the slightest chance she may have been 'persuaded' to do that? She has her sporting career to consider. I'm a nobody. Working class woman (the XX type) from a Yorkshire pit village. I don't have to toe anybody's line.
We're just going to have to agree to differ. You think Khelif's female. And I don't. We ain't gonna resolve it.
The Chair of the IOC was forced to resign. And you can be damn sure that Khelif will not be eligible to defend his title in LA. My work's done

The chair of the IOC was stepping down at the end of this year anyway, nothing to do with this case.

Yes, I know all this. If Khelif turns out to be XY, then further testing would be needed to determine the nature of any DSD and eligibility for female competition.
The IOC conduct no tests on female athletes, despite 88% of females surveyed voting for mandatory sex testing to be reintroduced. So anyone claiming to be a woman can walk right into women's sport. And you can't seem to get a grip on why I might have a problem with that?
Not much else I can say is there. I'm a lone female voice on a predominantly male forum. I spoke my truth. I stick by it. I'm not in the slightest bit bothered about what anyone says. I've gone past the age of caring what folk thing. Every day that passes, I have one fewer fu*k to give.

I give up. We won (that much IS true). The Chair of the IOC was stepping down anyway. Imane Khelif is a role model for women's sport. The men on Bob's Board are great. Mansfield Town are the greatest football team on the planet.
Keep the faith Up the Blues. Er Reds. What colour do we play in again???

If you want to celebrate and promote women?s sports (as we all should do- I certainly always have) why not celebrate the amazing women in the Games rather than harass a vulnerable one?
Celebrate Keeley Hodgkinsom, Gabby Thomas et al
