First of all, thank you to all who took part in the competition, I hope you enjoyed playing it as much as I enjoyed organising it. The taking part really is the most important thing, and I hope you will sign up for future Bob?s Board prediction competitions.

Congratulations to Trophy champion TRIGGER and Plate champion TOTONRABBIT, and to the respective runners-up, SPIREITERACHEL and SON OF S42BLUE.

In recognition of your prediction skills, and through the generosity of our Spireite-supporting friends at Legends of the Spire and Quigley Tuesdays, some super prizes are yours ? look out for a direct message from me to arrange delivery.

The Trophy and Plate competition final tables are attached.
As usual, any queries on the results can be posted on this thread and I will check.

The Qualifying phase prediction outcomes are as follows:
Spain won the Euro24 tournament, in normal time
The first tournament goal came in the 10th minute
England won 4 matches and Kane was England?s top scorer.
Scotland won 0 matches but did feature in the match with the most goals (6).
There were 5 red cards, 10 own goals, and no hat-tricks.
6 matches were goalless, and 5 matches required extra time.

Here is a quick summary of how each of you fared:

baldyblu
Recovered from a first game loss in the group but a slow start in the knockout phase meant the late challenge fell just short

Outwood Orient
A quiet start in the ?group of blue? and challenged strongly at the quarter-final stage before fading

Son of S42blue
A campaign full of bright spots, including being one of only two to predict Spain as winners, and correct scores for both the semi-finals and the (with banker) final, to take a well-earned runner-up spot in the Plate competition

Blue roan lily
Not seen in the domestic competition for a few seasons, but announced intentions as top scorer in the group phase. Well-set until the quarter finals but unable to recover from the dip in form

Westbars Spireite
Sneaked into the Trophy with a 5-4 win in the last group game, then well-placed at the last 16 stage but, having burned all bankers. couldn?t maintain the momentum

Brimington spireite
Notched 33 prediction points in the groups but suffered two narrow defeats for an appearance in the Plate, and couldn?t regain the scoring touch throughout the knockout phase

BlakeSeven
Picked up one point in the group phase and called it a day

RN Blue
Bowled along nicely in winning the group, and led the Trophy at the last 16 stage but blew-up in the quarter-finals

Spitfire
One point in the group matches and steady mid-table performance thereafter

hilly81
Climbed to third place at the quarter-final stage and every chance but no predictions submitted for the semi-finals or final

peakblue
Performed well to secure group top spot, but a disappointing return on the banker selections meant for a low-key knockout phase

stevie_b
Hard-working effort that earned a Trophy place as group runner-up, but stumbled during the knockout phase, including missing the first semi-final

Stents
Solid form in the group but then crucially disappeared until the semi-final stage by which time all chances were gone

Benno Spire
Eased into the knockout phase as group winner, after which 'the wheels fell off'

#josephutd
Scored well in the group games, then went for a high number of draws in the knockout phase, and couldn?t get into the battle for honours

Misnomer
Qualified and managed just the first group match before disappearing

Mr Mercury
Scrambled a win in a low-scoring third group game before leading in the Plate at the quarter-final and semi-final stages and finished in the frame

CFC91
Bright start before almost hitting zero in the third group game, then stayed in midfield before joining the leaders at the semi-final stage

s42blue
Stable pedigree showed as this sire of the Plate runner-up put together a consistent run. In with a shout right up to the final, and can be pleased with the effort overall

Forza Azzurri
Solid at the group phase, and rolled the dice in the last 16 when using all available bankers, but foiled by the Swiss

SpireiteRachel
Current domestic league champion and the only top seeded player to win a group, followed by consistent scoring in each knockout round and benefiting from late bankers to achieve a worthy position of Trophy runner-up

turrhall
Surprisingly unpredictable campaign included a no-show in the first group game, rising to third at the quarter-final stage, missing the first semi-final and then abandoning the longstanding 2-1 prediction style, which proved crucial at the end

TOTONRABBIT
Started off the group with a huge 16 points in the first game, and could even afford to skip the quarter-finals before powering home with two correct score bankers to become Plate competition champion

Alfie Blue Stars
Sensational tournament start with a banker-played 5-1 correct scoreline, which had the pundits wondering if the record books would be rewritten, but always a difficult ask to maintain the level

Trigger
Proved the value of reading the rule book in scooping 7 points in the qualifiers to help ease clear of the field by a decent margin as Trophy champion

spireitesarah
A respectable tournament with steady scoring at each round, and another to save bankers for the later stages

stainlessstephen
Emerged as group winner and shaped well early in the knockout but made no use of bankers, including missing one of the bonus bankers on offer in the last 16

Bovs Bankers
Qualified but a no-show in the group and knockout phases

Lball
The newcomer took time to adjust to the demands of European-level competition, but will have benefited from the run out

Macspire
Group winner and always thereabouts in the knockout phase, good effort from the novice

wilf
Consistent scoring in the group games earned a Trophy spot, followed by a dip in form before finishing with a correct score banker

Painted Wagon
A solid performance and always in the mix, with plenty of highlights, including a lead in the Plate competition at the last 16 stage
