By the way mate I dare bet your brother had a lot of Golden Gordon moments last season haha lol

😆😆😆, definitely mate, to add to all the others too. It sounds like, you like me, was traumatised at a young age. We could have been marked for life having to watch such offal. To be honest, I don't know how they managed to get the players they did because the likes of Hodgkinson, Currie, Jones, Reece and Hockey were all internationals at one level or another, and United have never been the highest wage payers.

We were always going to be alright mate as we always got to watch the mighty Spireites the week after to teach us what proper football was like ;) .
To be honest whenever I went to the Lane I always used to cheer on the opposition no matter who they were.
As for United attracting players to sign for them back then I think it may have been down to breathing in the toxic mix of the fumes from the chimneys of the blast furnaces of the steel works and Bertie Bassetts sweet factory and they didn't realise what they were signing up to until the effects had worn off and by that time it was too late lol.
Until I'm 6 feet under baby I don't need a bed
Gonna live while I'm alive I'll sleep when I'm dead

😂, yes, and I think, in Trevor Hockey's case, it was down to his Creswell Crags hairdo 😁.
Turning up to watch the Spireites is in the blood. Through thick and thin, and there's been some thin, that were so thin, they were see through 😁, but we still turn up week in week out. I still can't think of anything that gives me more pleasure than watching Town win.

It would indeed mate and I don't think Chopper Harris would be far out with that statement although Chelsea had some real classy players around the time Peter was there. John Hollins, Charlie Cooke, Bobby Tambling and Alan Hudson to name just a few.

Naturally I bow to Ron Harris ? far superior knowledge but Charlie Cooke was an absolute genius ? up there with him the likes of Jimmy Johnstone and Alan Jones
THEY FLY SO HIGH , NEARLY REACH THE SKY , AND LIKE MY DREAMS THEY FADE AND DIE
