This must be quite a lengthy list. I can think of the Ipswich pair Russell Osman and Eric Gates who were part of Bobby Robsons excellent Ipswich side. Gates, a fine club winger never did it internationally, although I don?t know how many chances he was given. Whilst Osman was partnered at centre back with Terry Butcher who became an integral part of the England team, whilst his club partner Osman failed at international level.
In subsequent years Steve Mcmanaman stands out as consistently excellent for Liverpool whilst usually disappointing for England.
Who else could be added to this list?

Of course. I forgot about him. He was a truly remarkable talent but didn?t do it for England.

A bit premature but maybe in ten years we will be adding Bellingham and Foden?

Osman was quite good in that four-four draw with the Jerries...

Wayne rooney

Never turned up when ya needed him most. Aka tournaments, scored nearly all his goals against mediocre opposition in qualifiers

Declan Rice

Rice is a quality player who is on the list of those who weren't used correctly at the Euros. He gets forward much more for Arsenal, more of a box to box midfielder and he is excellent. Sitting him deep like England did he just isn't as effective.
