It's far from obvious the point that he is trying to make.

As you say, Phil Kirk is on record as saying that he's not involved with the club to make money, nor does he expect to. Since the Kirks got involved with the club just over two years ago, they've not given me any reason to doubt their word, quite the opposite in fact and very much a rarity for us given our recent history.

As for there being pressure on Paul Cook and his staff to succeed, there will be no pressure from the board, the only pressure will be from the manager himself.

Consolidation.

That's the only real "pressure" this season.

But as you quite accurately recognise we have a management who won't settle for that.

I see no reason we can't look forward to a play off push if they're in situ for another season, whilst being wryly suspicious of anyone seeking to in any way scorn them...

Thanks for your support. Unfortunately most of the posters on this board accept everything without asking a question. Fair enough if the Kirks are prepared to throw money at the club but as long as there?s a return on the investment (they?re astute businessmen after all). Hence my comment that the pressure being on to deliver by PC, the coaches and the squad. Most clubs in L2 (and quite a few in L1) would love to be in our position.

Why would clubs in League One prefer to be a division lower?
