I see it’s reported that Paul Holmes, formerly of Everton, West Brom and others has died at the age of 56, after a battle with cancer.

Very sad, son of CFC great Albert. I believe he came to Whittington Moor to watch with his Dad at times.

RIP Paul.

Albert was playing when I first started following CFC , saw him score a brace of rockets at Rochdale.

Cruel way to go, god bless Paul.

RIP Paul his dad was a tough tackling full back with the town but he was occasionally thrown up front and

scored a few goals in his time
