Yeah if we get Brown, along with the impending return of Madden to fitness, then the writing is on the wall for Quig aint it. Will forever have a sort of cult hero status about him after last year but there comes a time to move on for everybody.

Tyrer is a good keeper who will go on to have a decent career but he?s not exceptional. I?d be surprised if he ever makes it as a Premier League number 1. There will be a lot of young keepers of similar ability, hopefully one of which we have just signed. Thompson may even be better. Northampton fans were not happy when he left them to return to Newcastle earlier in the year. Hopefully he has as good an impact as Tyrer did.

if the outgoings are to the NL (or below?) then the window closing is irrelevant.
