I thought we just had with the lad from Fulham.

Cook wants two more, a keeper and what?s your best guess for the other position? In central midfield we have Naylor, Oldaker, Banks, Jones, Akinola. I can?t really see a 6th coming in.

I think central midfield to cover for Oldaker and Banks. I am a Jones fan but he is another year older and as for Akinola as others have said don't understand why we signed him.

I agree, but, they?re both here and part of the squad.

Oldaker must be one of the most underrated (by our own fans) players ever to play for the club

In my time supporting the club (Since 1994-95) I can think of several, prime ones being 3 at once in Niven, Allott & Whittaker in a period of success for the team!
"Do you think I'm here for your amusement" & good riddance to bad rubbish

I think he will be looking for a striker and keeper. An upgrade on quigley.

Do you think he?s underrated by fans or that his inconsistency has been the issue with him?

It?s clear he can play and he?s started the season really well but he had an excellent spell last season but then put in a string of poor performances which saw him drop out of the team.

I suppose consistency is the difference in playing at higher levels.

Totally agree with you, said after the Swindon game that I had my concerns for that reason but for that game and the following ones he has played well, time will now tell hopefully without history repeating itself.

Indeed. I remember us talking about him last season. I really like DJ but am certainly not blind to his deficiencies. Consistency is the name of the game and if he can nail that he?ll be a more than good enough L2 playmaker.

If Oldaker added consistency to his performances I?m sure we would have a saleable asset

Completely agree, Oldaker is a brilliant player and has improved season on season under Cook. He always had the ability on the ball, but you can see the improvement in his mentality, off the ball play, intensity of his play (taking less touches and moving it quicker) etc since he?s been here. Still only 25 too, not the finished article by any stretch.

Has to be defensive as that is where it?s needed.

He's turned into one of those players who you look for on the team sheet. Impressed so far. Looks like an old head on young shoulders. If teams play through us, I'm inclinded to ask to what extent we need a 'stopper' in midfield - ie Naylor.
