I’m genuinely shocked at the lack of respect from the players to the fans turning up, travelling and paying their hard earned.

Not a single one of those players wanted to be playing today.
Not one.
And you’d think that some would be desperate to earn a contract.

Webb never moved from being lent against the tunnel.Roberts wasn’t much better. He stood in the technical area but shouted / did nothing apart from moan at the 4th official.

I wasn’t particularly motivated to move from the sofa and wish I hadn’t. That was awful.

You've summed up the most frustrating part of all of this.
We simply lose to any team who tries harder than we do. It's not about quality, it's about workrate. Surely the first rule of football is never be beaten in workrate. You may lose against a team with more quality, but no team should ever lose on workrate.

Not just about work rate - let’s face it all the players whether they’re ex-L1 players are playing for their place next year so all this bull about lack of motivation is tosh. Not only that they have an obligation to turn up and do the business to earn their wages. Anything less means they don’t deserve to stay let alone a V sign to the fans.

No we’ll never survive in L2 with this defence but when the team is chopped and changed every week it smacks of not having a clue tactically to win a game and with a minimum respect for the opposition. I only see an obstinate way of playing week in week out which has had lots of question marks raised and often outdone by poor teams exploiting our weaknesses with with route one tactics and set-pieces. Kiddy are a poor team but we made them look good.

When you leave your most creative players on the bench one of whom was MOTM at York then you have to ask questions about the management’s team choices too.

Our best attacker was their defender who scored the OG, says it all despite our goals record this season. Back to square passes ad infinitum and back to the keeper from attacking positions. The best of our worst performances today and no urgency to go forward.

We were absolutely clueless today, shocking - one of the worst displays I’ve seen this season. No excuses, time to say no to the Peronis and wake up, this is supposed to be a professional team not a Sunday League set-up

Deep down I think Cookie knew today’s back 4 not good enough, he just wanted it confirmed. All OOC and won’t be renewed.

I don’t expect to win every game at all.
I do however expect the players to at least want to win every game.
Not a single one of ours did today whilst all of theirs did.
3-1 flattered us. Boot saved a few and it could easily have been 6. We never had a single shot all second half. Not one.

Not having a clue tactically?
Supposed to be a professional team?

Look at the table and see who the f*ckin champions are! There's a lot of people angry about that performance but you are a joke!
Life goes on. Whatever happens.

After the debacle at York and now the absolute wet lettuce of a performance today, the team and management should be embarrassed.
Title may be won but turning out that kind of bilge for the paying fan is 100% unacceptable.

Pathetic performance, I don't mind losing/dropping points but to lose the home record to that is incredibly frustrating, missed Grimes at the back, not been to every game but whenever I've seen Frecks play he doesn't look comfortable, midfield non-existent and we never seem to put a tackle in, like we look scared when someone picks the ball up and runs at us. After the first 20 mins we picked up and thought we'd carry it onto the second half but never got going. We've had a brilliant season, definitely coasting the last 6 weeks but gone out with a bit of a whimper today! Hopefully we can bounce back for the final few games, no doubt we'll come back stronger and be ourselves next season but today wasn't acceptable by any means!

To suggest a club that have drunk the league have a Sunday League set up is a bit silly

And we won’t have this defence in L2

The defence was bad but we didn’t lay a glove on them going forward either. Didn’t even have a shot in the second-half. Pitiful performance. They won every battle on that field today.

I was seriously considering going to Gateshead in a couple of weeks, but if the players can't be bothered to make the effort, then why should I.
After all I would be shelling out over 100 quid on train/match tickets and hotel. I'd rather donate the money to Ashgate hospice instead.

Seems we are leaving this league as we entered it - playing embarrassing football and with no respect for the fans.

Chesterfield FC- be more professional

I’m confused. Have we not won the league? Looking at squad players for next season. That’s professional.
What would you like the club to do?! Risk long term injuries to Grigg and Colclough?

My thoughts exactly. We’d booked originally for next Saturday. Thank god it’s been rearranged and I can’t get and have the money back from the hotel.

I love how on this board whoever we play are derided as **** and if we don’t beat them it’s the end of the world. Halifax, York and Kidderminster all terrible according to this board

In reality Kidderminster have worked hard, created more than us, scored 3 decent goals and defended well - talk of them playing like Staveley is quite frankly ridiculous

Obviously not good enough from Town, a few of them failing their auditions for next season

Totally agree, what's just as embarrassing is the support, 1st home game after being crowned champions and nothing, getting library, and other chants from 350 away supporters...and it was deserved, even Dobra tried whipping the kop up during the 2nd half and got no response, ..

Ffs we've won the league, yea we conceded early, so what get behind the team, and create a party atmosphere... today was like we needed 3 points to avoid relegation..
all we are saying, is give us ...a goal, or 2+

Just showing some desire to try and win would be a start.
That’s not asking much.
