I made a comment to my son about that … Very odd?!?!?

A bit of Google research.
Toyoda’s (the founder of Toyota, which originally made) automatic looms, were widely acclaimed for their ability to increase productivity. Indeed, the technology was sought by textile companies eager to recapture market positions that had been lost during World War I. The largest of these was British firm Platt Brothers of Oldham, which in 1929 agreed to pay £100,000 for the rights to use Toyoda’s patented technology and therefore protect its key markets. Little was it appreciated at the time but Platt Brothers had unwittingly provided Kiichiro with the capital that helped provide the platform to fund his passion project – automobile manufacturing.

Tenuous to say the least.

Didn’t watch it, read through the usual ups and downs on this thread, but, realistically, very happy with a point away at the home of the champions elect.

So, neither Barnet nor Bromley, like all the others below us, couldn’t handle the pressure and, as I’ve said previously, are more concerned with looking over their shoulder than up at at us. We will be the Champions and the fat lady has accepted the booking.

Quigley becomes another player to get into double figures this season with the goal which has more or less wrapped things up whilst Hobson’s name is added to the long list of goal scorers.

By all accounts we weren’t at our best but in reality other teams need to be at their best just to give us a game even then. Cook should be using the rest of the season to work out what he needs for next season along with the strengths and weaknesses of what we already have in different formations.

But protecting that proud, historic, unbeaten home record.

Losing that proud record by being beaten by those rascals Maidenhead would - in a way - be an appropriate Farewell to Non-League Football.

Okay, let's take a step back and look at things logically.

The Xmas tree formation kept a clean sheet at Barnet, so understandable we'd try it at the champions elect (what? They're not? But I thought they wrapped it up at ours' with that title winning equaliser....?).

We saw nowt we'd not seen before, though: Oldaker blows hot and cold, our defence is open plan meaning individual errors hurt us and, perhaps most of all, we start games slowly.

There's a thin line between patience and complacency.

I can understand PC wanting to give fringe players game time, too. It's what his squad ethos is all about. Yeah, us fans might've built yest'di up into a promotion clincher, but maybe he saw it as just another step towards the inevitable.

On the other hand we went to a play off chasing outfit who, like pretty much everyone we play these days, really did treat it like their cup final, gifted a side putting on their best show of the season a couple of goal lead, yet still came back with a point.

That's really rather embarrassing for them.

It would've been terrific to continue earlier form and set all kindsa records. Perhaps including a day out at Wembley. However I'm eye moisteningly moved to be touching the finishing line so early with the rest of the league so far to the rear.

The best manager we've ever had will make necessary changes over the summer. Yet everyone - EVERYONE - who's pulled on the royal blue of Town this year should be proud of what they've achieved...

Well said, Chris.

Every pre-season is an opportunity to improve on the squad already in the building with the emphasis on “squad”. I’m confident the management already know what’s needed, the targets, and the budget required to bring in any improvements. If some of our existing first choices become members of the squad that suggests improvement.

Gone 6pm, time to say - what’s happened to the highlights?
Is old Roy, the 84 yo co commentator, editing them?
Woking v Barnet been available some time now.

Highlights can’t be shown if there is a TNT highlights show, that is at 7pm tonight. Not sure why Woking have shown theirs

…reason 43 why it will be good to return to the EFL. Highlights up almost as soon as the games’s over

The thing about TNT is that they don’t have a highlights show if there is no live game - but they love the competition so much

Seems Roy is editing the highlights then. Still not available. Having paid to watch on NLTV and still not seen the foul on Hobson for the penalty, patience wearing thin.

Anyone of similar restlessness (usually DV at least) -I suggest take a look at the highlights of Alty’s win at Boreham Wood. Some good football and cracking goal line saves. Oldham have to be worried that they can get back into the top 7.

fwiw, Oldham yet to release the highlights from their end either. We may be getting held up by them since it was at their ground and they likely controlled the filming.

Not arguing with that, my criticism is aimed squarely at Oldham.

Twas on the Highlights show last night - penalty looked a bit soft/clumsy
