Because most people recognise this cup as a risk to our league campaign.

Barely anyone gives a toss about today. Including the management

You felt the same about the FA Cup?

This is is ridiculous- it’s a comp we could win - one of the oldest comps in the world and at Wembley.
Hopefully our last chance to win it.
A league / Trophy double would be incredible.

Only you and that perennially negative Walton don’t value it it seems. If the management didn’t value it they wouldn’t go and it would be a massive slap in the face of those who travelled down to watch the game live

Very few have gone and those going knew what to expect.

Anything that might have even a 1% impact on our promotion chances (with no financial incentive) by causing fixture congestion can do one.

Probably hypothetical now but it would have been interesting to see attitudes changing if the academy progressed and we were still streets ahead in the NL.

It’s a trophy - players (all sports performers) measure their success on their silverware.
To not give any competition the full respect is bad.
Look at the (rightful) dogs abuse Prem teams get when sending weak teams in FA and Caraboa Cups?

They don’t get abuse nowadays do they? They did years ago, in fact clubs used to get fined for fielding weakened sides.

Now it gets a mention when the teams anre announced and it’s done. CFC don’t respect it- get over it.

Dry January so not a beer in the house. I will cry with joy when we get out this league. I couldn’t give a toss about the FA Trophy.

I agree with the general sentiment but not on this specific occasion. Clearly the club’s thoughts are aligned with mine.

Get over what?
Everyone really not wanting Town to win the Comp? That’s crazy. We’ve won about 4 things in a 150 year history and play some kids.
I’d imagine Croot will be pssed with the decision

No it's not one of the oldest comps in the world, it started in 1969. it's only 6 years older than me!

We’ve won four championships in 53 years, plus a Cup. Two more major ones pre 1939. Are you a fan?
I’m sure the owners will have said, promotion is an absolute must- at all costs.

I’m more interested in this competition that most I’d guess and yet I’m relaxed with team selection. In fact the idea that our fans might lose some money betting against us would excite me more than progression.

We've won 10 things in our history (not counting the Derbyshire Senior Cup (7 times))

Not likely. Nice one Welling, that’s the -1 in at 11/1 too all being well.

It's like the Watford game.

Our youngsters played an outfit from several levels higher, gave a laudable account of themselves, and exit with no embarrassment whatsoever.

Leaving the season free to focus on the absolute number one priority...
Never underestimate the stupidity of people
