I?m a massive Jack fan but I don?t really disagree with u.

Me too. Very different players but Grigg is a real handful, so effective in what he does

I expected Grigg’s movement and guile to be top notch but it is not. Too often not in place when the ball is played into dangerous positions up top.

Still got the same view?

New thread that highlights will griggs touches in games,by my reckoning he is on about £400 a touch up tp yet this season

I'll take a small amount of touches if it results in 2 goals. Your vendetta is looking rather silly.

Absolutely brilliant player who we are so lucky to have. One of our very best signings for a long time.

The best part about this thread is how Bonnyman STILL cannot bring himself to accept he was miles off it & wrong about Will Grigg. Even when he gives him credit through gritted teeth, he still has to try and throw something out there as a negative in his direction whether it?s that we ?need? a younger forward (I?m sure he?d be first to moan if that younger striker he clamours for didnt hit the ground running), or that Grigg is ?just? a ?sniffer? like a goal from 1 yard doesn?t count as exactly the same amount of goals as one from 30 yards?

31 league goals in 49 games speaks for itself, absolutely outstanding record especially when you think how often Cook rotates his number 9. He?s been an amazing signing for us, and his goals are a huge reason as to why were back in the EFL.

Quite often how he influences things by not touching it be it chasing a potential lost cause pressurising a defender or keeper, challenging for a high ball just so a defender doesn?t get a free easy header. So often leads to things for us.

Things like his goal at Bromley this season, that goal last season that he scored from sat out wide came from doing the dirty work of chasing things down. That?s on top of the goals he scores being in the right place a few yards out. He?s scored three in the last two that barely total 6/8 yards from goal.

He?s just a very good forward and we?re lucky to have him. A grafter with quality.

Only good centre forwards score sat on their ar5e. He's done it before and he'll do it again.

Grigg's the stereotypical 'poacher'.

He doesn't do the mazy Lester-esque runs nor does he outpace or dominate defenders aerially.

But he has a terrific core strength that sees him rarely outmuscled and seems to be in right places at right times.

Still think we need a larger, more athletic alternative, but rotating the two proven strikers we have is no small blessing...

If there were any concerns when we signed him, it would have been about signing a player of his age on a 3 year deal. Surely nobody can doubt his contribution last season, bagging a load of goals and getting us promoted in his first year with us. He's got 6 so far this season..if he ends up with say 15 (conservatively), that's a perfectly good season. From there, even if next season (and in a worst case scenario) he ends up as an alternative/bit part player as age catches up... we'd have taken that from the start and that assumes a worse case scenario as well.

If Bonnyman did reasonableness then I think he'd admit that's what he thinks. Unfortunately he is determined to slate Grigg within his argument about the the need for a Plan C. I think he might have a few Deedah genes.
Get it on, bang the gong , get it on

What actually was the point of taking off grigg and replacing with madden a pointless exercise when your chasing a win, however a striker with height adds a different dimension , we simply cannot stretch tesms
ITS NOT THE WINNING,ITS THE TAKING APART

It is very difficult to stretch teams that are protecting their goal with ten men back.

My only issues with tonights performance are the very poor quality of our corners and the lack of a surprise element lin our attacking such as a long shot from distance. Banks had a decent game and he has this in his locker but never used it. I just think such scenarios can create a bit of indecision in a defence which otherwise knows exactly that the next attack will be along similar lines to the previous one.

During warmup shooting practice the power that the ball was hitting the back of the net was a delight to see,as on most occasions. So when in play why are we not shooting from outside the box.I have admitted on several occasions on here that the technical side of the game is not my area, but why with the pace and skill we now have in the team why are we not going straight down the middle and taking shots?
