Whilst I was a little disappointed that we didn't sign Dallas at the end of last season I also remember that he missed his fair share of good chances before hitting a bit of a purple patch. Strangely, Barnsley moved him on virtually before he'd kicked a ball for them and he had hardly set the world on fire up in his homeland. Perhaps Cook saw this and never offered him terms whilst the rest was just conjecture.

Dobra is a different kettle of fish altogether and I can't see why he can't be succesful higher up the ladder. Talk on here of an offer of around £50k might be accepted is much too low in my opinion and even if he wants to move on he his more likely to have more choices on the table at the end of the season. I understand he has a great relationship with Cook and I think there's a good chance that if Cook stays Dobra will stay especially if we win promotion.

£250,000 with a sell on would be just about ok. Anything less wouldn't be ok. All being well he'll sign for another year or two and then achieve a £1M plus deal to the Championship or Prem.

Weigh it up against fees paid for other players and - although not same positions but think level of skill - make a 'educated guess' of worth.
I'd put Dobs below a Clucas but higher than a Kabby.
I think you're about on the money 250/300K with a decent add on

I’m a fan of Dobra but he isn’t championship or Prem level. The lad has talent but I suspect his temperament may hold him back

What temperament do you feel he has. He trains hard, per all reports, and is always willing to track back and recover the ball.
And looking for a foul doesn't seem to have done Grealish any harm.

He isn’t going for £250,000 in January with only a few months on his contract when he could walk in the summer for a meagre development fee.

Half that maybe. There is often someone desperate enough to take the plunge sooner rather than later.

If it is clear he’s definitely rejecting a new contract offer, I doubt we’d stand in his way as we do have cover in that area and we could always reinvest

As I said I’m a fan. Looking for a foul is ok but some of his antics and dives are a tad embarrassing. If he can stop that side of his game he has potential. It’s then up to him. I hope he stays we go up and he tests himself in league 2.

Half the premier league players throw themselves around far worse than Dobra and are playing prem football so doubt his “antics”, which I don’t think are as bad as some folk make out, will have much of an impact on his progession.

I actually think he seems to have calmed that down a little bit recently.

If he does go in January the fee could depend on the number of interested parties which might create an auction type situation with the highest bidder most likely being the winner.

Conn Clarke at Alty comes to mind.

Yep, spot on. He’s also worth more to us as a player that’s gets us back into the EFL and leaves for the development fee than a bit of cash and the wheels falling off our title challenge, you can’t put a price on that
A new hope.

Kyle McFadzean is a name I've heard a couple of times now, available on a free in the summer, looking to move back nearer home in Sheffield.

Currently playing regularly for Coventry in the Championship, although will be 37 come the end of the season.

I wonder if Grimes missing for 3 games might accelerate this one, there is a deal to be done in the window, if they can get a replacement in apparently.

I do hope it's rejected or it's full of pretence. A team at the top will no doubt attract interest.

Same guy that was the first to report us signing Colclough.

My first choice of a replacement would be Conn-Clarke from Alty
