Yeah I enjoyed the thought of it when first mentioned but gone off him now. Need players who can play the season. Next.

What about taking him on loan, until January, with Aberdeen paying a significant part of his wages, and a club option to extend the loan? I would.

If the name I’ve heard is correct then he’s definitely one for the future but who could make an impact immediately.

Seems like he had league clubs queueing up for his signature too so we’ll done to all involved securing him on a 2 year deal.

I wonder if we might see a rehash of one of last summers Tesco “who is he” signing on videos? (Although one of the clues would be exactly the same so hardly that cryptic!)

I saw him play a couple of times for Alfreton last season, looked a class above that level at times, but pretty raw. Definitely a player in there and not suprised he has admirers in the FL

Yeah go on you’ve tempted me now. The key is the deal has to benefit CFC. We’ve been on the wrong end of too many of these deals recently - Quigley, Rowe etc

Bit of a head scratcher this (well not really' cos it's a wind up) unless someone's leaving, but aren't we already well stocked with class in his preferred position.

I’d be underwhelmed with Cal Roberts and Will Grigg tbh. We can do better than both. Roberts too injury prone and Grigg on a downwards trajectory.

No, we only have Jez as back up

He can play either wing, maybe even in the hole? Dobra/Colclough/Mandeville unlikely to stay fit all season and Jez doesn't seem ready yet.

I'd take the positive approach, thinking they have done their homework on Grigg on he could turn out to be a "Jack" 🙏 type signing.

Ahhh Hobson?

Not sure why there's so much secrecy when it comes to 'I heard a name'. We're not MI5 here...

Don’t get me wrong if they sign I’ll support them - just not convinced they’re the best available! Grigg has played for Cook before though so could be a master stroke.

Totally get the concerns ref Grigg

Can I ask a question though

How many do you think he would have scored last season if he was on the receiving end of the chances we created ?

I would say even if he’s not the player he once was minimum 20

From what I can see he’s 26 and has made around 100 apps in his career. Currently out with a hamstring injury since 15 March. Decent scoring record at Notts but only managed 50 starts over 2 seasons- his best appearance rate being 37 games in 21/22 - Possible George Cooper/Jack Clark vibes?.
If you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything.

There might be the odd one but out of the hundreds of transfers eaxh year I can't think of a board without a manager eho has signed a player.

I'm sure Notts County signed loads without a manager including Longstaff

I'm sure he has the class to put away a chance, be it a header or a shot. IMO that's not the most important consideration though as playing behind him are 3 players who are all capable of 15 goals a season if they have somebody in front of them who can lead the line, link play, find space.
Get it on, bang the gong , get it on

And it could be exactly the opposite, he’s pulled no trees up of late.
God I hate this league.

Would echo this. Saw him a couple of times and showed flashes but nothing that blew me away. Raw is definitely the word but they were raving about him there saying he'd got FL admirers then.

Watched Alfreton quite a few times last season and nobody stood out for me.
Life goes on. Whatever happens.
