i'm completely biased but post penalty we didn't seem to get many decisions including one moment in the 2nd half when it looked to me like notts keeper clearly conceded a corner but got away with it, totally emotionally wrapped up in the game so accept i may have seen this one wrong but it did look blatant at the time.

Assistant ref was nowhere near up with the play on the corner, though it didn't even look that marginal.

And I agree. Once we got an early penalty the ref seemed reluctant to give us the same decisions that he gave to them.

This is how I saw it. He needed to be stronger but he felt like he needed to appease notts after two big decisions went against them.

The corner that wasn’t given to us a minute or two before they equalised in normal time could have been the difference and it’s one of the worst decisions I’ve seen. The ball clearly bounced over a foot out of play and nothing given.

Which two big decisions went against them?

The indirect free-kick went for them because there are big questions as to whether or not the punishment should have been harsher in terms of either a red or yellow card.

The penalty was a penalty every day of the week and, again, there are questions as to whether or not the punishment should have been harsher in terms of a yellow card.

My thoughts are those decisions went for them and, if anything, against us.

I thought the officials were not up to the occasion with one linesman struggling to keep up with play and a referee who ignored some bad challenges by them whilst taking every opportunity to award them something each time they were behind. Fans around me were in total disbelief at some of his decisions.

I'll be honest. I can't remember.
Either way, I saw the gap but I trusted our keeper.
Defensively though, we coped.

The coaching staff were vigorously waving players over to protect the near post, seems like they didn't get the message.

Yes, as apparently reported on 1866 Radio by Jamie Hewitt

Just watched the highlights on bt sport the iPad and I’m still aghast how the keeper has stayed on the pitch after the first few minutes!

The real scandal for me is the blatant push by Bostock on Akinola in the box after they had equalised. Shocking decision and shows what a bottler the refs are in this league. Notts should have conceded on against BW in the semis late but the refs are spineless, cheats, or incompetent.
Guess I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue!

I’ve been involved in football for over half a century and have never seen the “double” goal kick before. Surely it is denying a goal scoring opportunity and a minimum yellow! Penalty then a second yellow!!

Yeah that looked a blatant penalty to me. Ref made multiple game-costing decisions unfortunately. Standard really.

Im more aghast we did not think through the indirect free kick, perhaps its because its such a rare thing but king was too far away and secondly he is right footed so the ball has to come across him a lefty would have been on it far sooner it just gives time to get close and block.

Correct.
The execution was not top drawer but it's a very very rare situation and wouldn't have been practiced. We've only really got Loz to try a left footer. The ball could have been back healed, with the taker charging towards the goalie and the shooter aiming for a top corner.
Get it on, bang the gong , get it on

I suppose these things are not concentrated on much in training because they very rarely happen. Even more rare than penalty decisions in our favour.

Colclough can hit a ball with his left foot but, certainly, the ball travelled too far before King got it on his right.

I'd have just shot and hoped for a deflection... footballers arent always bright and I doubt they would have cleared the way for it to go in!

The thought had crossed my mind during the penalty shoot out at what stage the Ref was going to take his penalty for County lol.

Was telling my brother about the goal kick incident last night, he’s since been speaking to a local ref he bumped into who apparently said the red card for denying the goal scoring incident when kicking it twice isn’t due to come into force until next season.

I’ve no idea about the rule either way to be honest!!

This was the completion of his first season at this level and has ref'd more than most this season. He must have been well thought of in the right circles to be appointed for the biggest? game of the season at this level. No doubt it will be part of his learning curve and he will benefit from the experience. Not sure Cookie will see it in the same light, I would think he'd have fancied our chances the way the game was going against 10 men for a hourish.

Another big game to file in the "screwed over by officials in big games" file.

Yep having seen the video he should have been off, no 2 ways about it

Blood boiling even more after watching the replay highlights. The f*cker should have been sent off twice in 5 minutes. Decisions like that along with that b*stard Ellary cost this club dear

Was that the one when Quigley turned his man out wide and crossed the ball. It hit their boy and went out for a corner. Whilst Quigley was doing his stuff Bostock grabbed Akinola with both arms and fell on him to put him down? I'd not spotted it live but re-watching the game it looks a foul and a penno to me. More Borehamwood and Bromley than NCFC from Bostock.
