A video clip has been sent to me that ought to appear on the highlights showing Slocombe kicking a goal kick twice, the second touch denying a goalscoring opportunity. Ref gave the free kick but didn't sanction the keeper as per the rule

Once again poor refereeing decisions have cost us

Not likely. They changed the rule ages ago to prevent double jeopardy. DOGSO isn’t applicable if they give a pen so long as they’re trying for the ball

i'm completely biased but post penalty we didn't seem to get many decisions including one moment in the 2nd half when it looked to me like notts keeper clearly conceded a corner but got away with it, totally emotionally wrapped up in the game so accept i may have seen this one wrong but it did look blatant at the time.

Maybe the mind tricking me, but shouldn’t we have had a penalty in the 89th minute, Quigley totally floored in the box following a decent through ball from Akinola?

Seriously we had **** all luck today 🤬🤬

The tip around the post from Colclough. That’s what it looked like to me, and I see Town the match report says the same.

I said at the time, not aware of the rule, that he’d stopped us scoring so should be red. Didn’t realise I was actually right!!

Correct.
But wasn't the corner incident resultant of the lino being miles behind play due to Jones? hoofing/shooting from distance trying to catch Slocombe of his line(even though he should have been sat in the stand)?

When King had that shot from about halfway from a free kick, Slocombe parried the ball up and it went about a meter behind the goal line for a corner. It’s was so obviously a corner. One of the worst decisions I’ve ever seen.

It was but the Linesman was in no position to give it and just did nowt. Seemed to be a couple of very hefty challenges, one on Clements first half, that weren’t even given.

Too many emotions.

For what it's worth, I thought the ref today was the best we've seen in a long while. His assistant on our side in the first half didn't keep up with play though. But the ref was good and ultimately it was a daft free kick given away by King (or Akinola, can't remember) culminating with a goalkeeping error that cost us promotion because up until that set peice we were dealing with everything they threw at us.

Mandeville gave the first one away didn't he? Flung his leg at it and pulled his hamstring at the same time?

I'll be honest. I can't remember.
Either way, I saw the gap but I trusted our keeper.
Defensively though, we coped.

I'm not aware of the rule but I did think it was at least a yellow card incident.

Then I thought his foul for the penalty was a definate booking too.

So, two yellows should have seen him sat in the stands.

There were a few other incidents which looked like yellow cards should have been issued against Notts players too but the ref didn't think they were worth even a chat. Then once we were ahead for the second time the ref appeared to see everything he could to their advantage and struggle to see anything for us. There were a number of times around me the question was asked of "how was that not a foul?" and exclamations of "he's giving them everything" including the free-kick incident resulting in their first equaliser.

Two offences he should quite correctly have been carded for this resulting in a sending off. Official bottled it!

Must admit that I didn’t know that rule could result in a card.
The ref, however, should know.

This was the completion of his first season at this level and has ref'd more than most this season. He must have been well thought of in the right circles to be appointed for the biggest? game of the season at this level. No doubt it will be part of his learning curve and he will benefit from the experience. Not sure Cookie will see it in the same light, I would think he'd have fancied our chances the way the game was going against 10 men for a hourish.

Another big game to file in the "screwed over by officials in big games" file.

Hourish? The incident was in the 3rd minute.
