I like the look of Fitz. Comes off his line when needed and made at least one first class save today.

Covolan will have to be content with being number 2 keeper for the foreseeable for me.

And his clean sheet record is good too.

I was briefly worried with that long range chip that he probably should have tipped over.

I honestly don’t think Cook has any reason to change from Quigley starting which would have been a ludicrous idea at in the past.

You’d put kabby in for quigley at the minute!?
Even tho it’s working perfectly with Whig’s starting and kabby exploiting tired defences?

Agree. Quigley was good today. Scored a goal and led the line reasonably well. Not sure what he has to do to get people off his back. He will never be a finisher like Tshimanga or Mullin, but he’s contributing to a side that is flying.

We know Cook knows what he is doing. We know the way we play doesn’t suit KT as a replacement like for like. We’re sure to get injuries and suspensions and things will evolve over the coming months.

Just watched the incident with Clarke kicking Dobra, it’s a clear red for me but the NL board won’t have the balls to give a retrospective red despite clear and obvious evidence

Morning Chris. It is Chris isn't it. The same Chris who has made hundreds of posts ridiculing and I quote "our little insignificant neighbours"?

Talking of hypocrisy, the sickly grin on the toe rag Sbarra's face having run half the length of the pitch to hand the 4th offical a fag lighter to drop us in the proverbial still remains. The hypocrisy being a few weeks later the toe rag was dancing on the pitch brandishing a banned pyrotechnic and along with other Club officials, players, stewards, supporters (OK rent a mob) on this occasion did nowt to prevent some scroat running the length of the pitch to, well we know the rest.

Discussing, slagging off of an opponent is normal message board fare and if the basis of these actions is based on facts witnessed by posters makes it all the more credible, more so than some of the past scab baiting (not that I don't find it humorous).

Unlike some I'm always open to post match discussions albeit this week with the reopening if base camp it'll be on home territory as the past 6ish weeks have been traumatic.

Of course it's Chris, Mick. You know it is. And I stand by each and every one of my posts ridiculing our little neighbours. Because they deserved 'em. But if y'wanna attach some sorta similar rivalry to an outfit far more tin pot than they'll ever be, bereft of the historical socio-political issues dividing our two towns, then be my guest.

However taking the step back I suggested from today's game, I give credit to Solihull for playing football. From the back. In the same way we do. Which then allowed us to be better at it. Did Osborne try to influence the Ref'? Of course he did. Were they in his face after every decision? Again, of course they were. Yet thankfully we had a bloke in the middle who ignored their sh*thousery.

So again as I suggested we must surely return to our real rivals. Wrexham and Notts. Who watching today's game must surely realise we can still deliver football lessons despite King falling below the high standards he's set. Dobra not quite at his best. A much maligned Quigley once again proving he's not a 'natural' goalscorer.

Or on the other hand previously sidelined players like Whelan covering every blade of grass and deserving their standing ovation after being subbed. For an Akniola who did so much to create our second goal. Not to mention raw talents such as 'Jez' coming on and assiduously adding to the Cook-esque team ethic.

I know the 'Tup's your manor. Infact I'm pleased for you it's re-opened. Yet unless a certain pro Carson and Co character who claimed summat similar - before performing a full retreat when genuine regulars such as your good self suggested he introduce himself - is prepared to join us in a friendly beer, I'll politely decline a masturbation of any anti National League prejudices therein.

Mate, we know what these clowns are all about. They revel in visiting our forum and discovering they're some sorta David to our Goliath. I'm not gonna give 'em that satisfation. Infact I'll simply offer credit where it'd due as we rise above fifth tier trivialities...
Never underestimate the stupidity of people

I'm very happy to come out of that with three points. They looked a very well organised and quick outfit, and for the first 10 minutes played the same way we do, only better. Then we got it sorted and the goal was the reward. If they concentrated on the football instead of the amateur dramatics they'd be even better, and I just wonder if Osborne's antics do them a lot more harm than good, in ruining their concentration. Fortunately we didn't go behind - it inspires him to greater heights when they have a lead to defend.
Whelan's a different player now he's super-fit, which he certainly wasn't earlier in the season. He does have a tendency to commit full-blooded to tackles and leave himself trailing if beaten, but he's going to have to step up even more when everybody's fit.
So that's two more sitters missed by Quigley, two shooting chances by Mandeville and a shooting chance each to Dobra and Whelan. That's just off the top of my head - there were certainly others. It happens week on week and we still keep winning, so I suppose I should just sit back and enjoy the ride, but we'll regret it one day for sure.
Jones MoM, and I thought the ref had a good game, though he obviosly missed one glaring foul. He let the game flow, at least.

No. A yellow would have been the correct decision.

lol Jeff King is Virgo's MotM, think he's been poor

Jeff King after his interview after being awarded Man of the Match came across the pitch to the dug out and was shaking his head and smiling . I think he couldn’t believe why the award was given to him.. I think he had a poor game today compared with the usual high standards he performs at.

Can Virgo just go and suck off their players as he's so in love with them please?

How many people on here didn’t go? Reading it retrospectively obviously. Interested in how many people chose to watch the game on tele and why.

Says a lot about the player King has become that his performance today was something of a disappointment! A cracking assist and tireless work from him...you know, the usual, but many of his final balls were wayward or surprisingly sloppy. Mandy similarly. But when you get a rare 6 from players usually providing 8's? Wasn't long ago that this was the other way round! There wasn't a player in blue that didn't put a shift in today.

Our form seems to have picked up since Banks got injured and Jones came in. Great player that Banks is at this level , I wonder if we have a better balance without him and Oldaker together, as they are quite similar in what they do.

Jones playing there, and having the footie intelligence to do it, has been a game changer. Banks just comes back in in front of him. Main question is Akinola. I think he’s good enough to make us win the league.

Kabby just doesn’t suit Cook’s system.
He won’t be here after January anyway so may as well get used to playing without him.

That’s not what Cook says. If you think he will go to the Championship in January, cos he’s class, then he should be playing every minute. Cook’s system is not long ball. Kabby makes killing diagonal runs like Doyle did. Doyle had better players serving him.
