They've left it to us to do the tickets for an away game. That has to be a first.

Harrow away in the FA cup in 2010 under Sheridan was the same.

Whilst I share the old romantic sentiments I think things should evolve with the ever increasing number of 'bigger' (supporter wise)clubs entering the competition earlier.

Earlier in the thread didn't the 'Old Sage', Azul stated that if a none league club were drawn at home toba league club it was possible to switch venues if the ground was deemed inadequate ( I'm open to ridicule as I haven’t checked). So with the line being drawn at rd1 why not lower the line one round to when the division 5 (NLP) clubs enter? It would save all speculation as experienced this last week and every party as in this instance would be happy and financially better off.

If for example Derby or the deedahs had a couple of bad seasons they could find themselves at this level, being drawn away at the likes of Swallownest or Selston Town. Wouldn't happen. However it wouldn't be a problem if the change of venue criteria was lowered by one round.

On prize money what will Anstey make out of reaching this stage with any ground improvements deemed necessary, presuming they need to address entrance and exit problems, bogs, car/coach parking etc. There won't be much change from their 3+K ( hopefully🙏) What will gate receipts be 8-10K split 2 ways, not a lot for 'a big day'.

Adding value to the competition is a good thing but it's all well and good doing at this stage of the competition when not many football folk are watching only for it to be devalued at the business end when the bigger teams who the sponsors want to be associated with stick 2 fingers up at the competition by treating it as 3rd rate competition by playing weakened teams or withdrawing all together.

With the size of clubs now entering the competition at fourth qualifying round the allowance to change venue rule should be dropped to include this round before something daft happens.

I agree and take your point about the big boys in the latter rounds but at this stage romantic cup ties are ruined with the switching of grounds.

I just think to the basics. It’s a cup competition, it’s played the way it’s drawn.

I've got a ticket but also want to see the TV coverage later, anyone know if possible to record the BBC coverage, I can't see them making it available on the iplayer after the live broadcast.

I don't know of anyone who entered the ballot and missed out do you?

Edit: Just seen Mr Mercury's post but it appears he's in a minority.

For the record no favours requested or granted to me and I only got a Solihull ticket because a mate queued down at the ground from 6am

I'm sure I watched a bit of the BBC coverage of a previous round on the telly - I think it might have been on the "red button." If you can get that on the telly, you might be able to record it.

Edit - this appears to confirm that we are on the red button.: Red Button One - Schedules, Saturday 15 October 2022 (bbc.co.uk)

It's nice to be able to Trust again.

I think the Congleton v Fylde game was shown again in full on red button/601 on the Sunday so I expect ours would be too

Had an email confirming I’ve got 2 for me and the lad. Has anyone not got one that entered? Doesn’t seem like it judging by the posts on here.

Anyway train has been booked and should be an interesting day out!

For anyone looking for a drink actually in Anstey before/after kick off, this is worth a shout https://www.tripadvi...re_England.html

Amusingly there is mention of people being giving tasters to decide which beer is their favourite before they buy. Didn’t I see that mentioned somewhere on another thread on here? 🤣

🤣 would the pub be called "The Entitled Arms"?

It is on I Player as well as the "red" button.
I have BT TV and thus the red button does not work.
I rang BT and was advised to use I Player as this is available easily on BT.

Every person I know that entered the ballot got a ticket. It looks like despite large amounts of indignation very few people actually applied to go in the draw

Not many one ticket requirements out there, many families travel away and I mean two or more.

Plenty of couples have them. I don’t know any families that applied.

Fact remains it looks like we only had a few hundred that actually applied

If you’re on Sky you should be able to set it to record on channel 981 which is the bbc red button channel. I set it last night to record.

I’ve got a few mates who applied and didn’t get just for balance
