He's been charged. And without speculating, everyone knows what he's accused of. And that if found guilty it wouldn't be a custodial sentence anyway. So his life and career are effectively ruined for 3 years minimum.

I've a feeling with the hogwash excuses trotted out by the prosecution that they and the CPS would have been happy with a dismiissal of the case. For fairly obvious reasons.

As long as he doesn’t work in the game again

To put someone through this is inhumane, mentally it must be akin to being on Death Row

The length of time between the alleged offence and the trial verdict is ridiculous and favours neither party, I can’t imagine the alleged victim or alleged perpetrator is finding it comfortable waiting years for an outcome.

If he is found guilty the judge will likely take this into account as his defence will likely bring it up if he gets sentenced.
Let me in!

Im not disputing there are issues with the court system but surely it wont take 10 month to find alternative personell and/or a court. Im sure both parties would travel to another court to get it wrapped up. Never have i heard nothing so ridiclious. The cynic in me says this is a ploy to get this case thrown out of court. If this farce was actually wrapped up before the years out and james rowe was found guilty he could go to jail and serve his sentence before the next court date is

Its not 3 years though is it?

It'll be almost 3 years when it gets to trial now from when the incident allegedly occurred (assuming the October '24 date happens) BUT he was still working here 2 months later until the complaint was made, spent a month on gardening leave prior to his 'resignation' half hour before his disciplinary hearing and then got a job at Fylde (presumably keeping his arrest and potential charge quiet) happily accepting a 3 year deal (presumably hoping the charges would 'go away), only leaving in September last year the day after charges were formally made and publicised.

Two years and ten months then.

A post both pedantic and pointless. Nice work.

I think most of us are agreed that even if found guilty - which seems increasingly unlikely with each passing day - he won’t be going to jail.

Being put through that and being found not guilty

But still losing 2 years and 10 months of your life, your career

You’d do well not to jump in front of a train
