The female yank who killed some unfortunate motor cyclist driving on the wrong side of the road in Northamptonshire didn't suffer too much, due to our American cousins using all possible delaying tactics. It got to the stage watching the Judge pass sentence and revealing some incredible sentence reducing red tape that I expected the judge to award her a 10 weeks free holiday in the Maldives.

And to add insult to injury when asked after the sentencing if they had any words for the victims family the solicitor replied "have a nice day". Arrogant C..t

Will Rowes case go the same way?
Derbyshire is Derbyshire
Yorkshire is Yorkshire

Never the twain shall meet.
Again

Absolutely ridiculous length of time.
Good chance of the allegations being withdrawn. Don’t be surprised if the trial never happens.

It was Sacoolas herself that came out with the "have a nice day" line.

I can't see any positives for either party arising from such a delay in the Rowe case

A five day trial does appear to be ridiculously long

Been reading this thread and the articles on james rowe since he was first accused of the crime, im neither defending him or marking him down as guilty but a few things dont add up. The alleged incident took place in november 2021, so why on earth was it not reported till i january/february this year which is when he first got arrested. Hes been granted un-conditional bail, surely in a case as serious as this his bail would have conditions like dont contact the victim or go near there address? Also a whole year before the trial starts, what on earth! Seen murder trials start quicker! Also a year until the trial starts is not good for either party, i know the police and the whole legal system hardly moves fast but thats a joke

I agree it seem increasingly peculiar, and the ridiculous length of time is as you say longer than a murder trial. It will be over two years since the alleged offence.
The longest trial I can think of in modern British criminal justice was that of the Maxwell brothers, like four years or something, but fraud cases are usually the longest and most complex. Rowe's should be nothing like that, more a case of one word against another as it's doubtful there would be any independent witnesses.
I increasingly get the feeling that the allegations may be withdrawn and the whole thing will go away.
Even if it does however Rowe's future in football must be under some doubt with this following the previous bullying business at West Ham.
I don't think many of us, perhaps blinded by his success after so many managerial failures, realised at the time that he is certainly an unpleasant character. Then again some of the most successful managers haven't always been nice guys.

Agree and With un-conditional bail theres nothing stopping him contacting the alleged victim or her friends/family. Very odd case, as such much time will have passed since the incident things will be very hazey
