Unless he's blind, him being gobsmacked at 'The Bridge' not taking card indicates a distinct lack of common sense on his part.

They've probably still got pickled eggs on the bar FFS.

*Edit - Missed the bit at the end. Setting aside the shiny new rented phone and bristling sense of tech superiority... if he's paying actual monies for the crap they dole out he has literally zero common sense.

He is a Southerner..... and his new phone is paid for, and the stuff will be because that is what you do at footie when you have a 6 year old.

To be fair, I'd trust his opinion on most things over yours ;) Re The Bridge, all pubs around his home town took cards, he couldnt understand why anyone wouldnt....obvs when he got there he saw it wasnt quite like he was used to!

No. I very rarely do.

Just the usual word salad with some navel gaze dressing.

What's with the unisex toilets?

I think every accessible toilet I have ever seen has been unisex. Those in the HUB (four sets) are unisex. It is an effective use if the evenings are a mixed, mainly male crowd and the daytime use is for the female football BTec.

So that's one (although I'd not really consider it a bar). And another possible in The Batch House (also not a bar as such).

Given the numbers of cashless venues compared to the amount of pubs and bars in and around town I'd suggest cashless isn't particularly popular.

Both the Hunloke and the Batch House are Bars/Pubs and Yes they serve food as do a lot of Pubs. It is Quiz night at the Batch House tonight and here is what the Hunloke is listed as online - The Hunloke Arms, a really good pub located in Wingerworth, Chesterfield.

Why do you respond with Crap and excuses rather than just admit what you put was inaccurate.............

Buuuuut anyway, get the chuffer built.

Been crying out for some pub style, 'half way house' between the concourses and lounges since the new place appeared.

As long as I can get some non fancy-assed snap and ale in front of a screen - with a chunk of my money going to CFC - I couldn't give a flying fornication who uses the same bogs.

Hell, anyone who's visited any modern leisure centre will've used unisex changing rooms anyway...

As long as the males are toilet trained I don’t see the issue.

With respect those arnt toilets in a bar with men drinking plenty of ale.
Bad move imho that women haven’t got their own toilets in there.

I am not a regular at festivals, but are the portaloos there designated for male and female rather than being unisex?

Those at festivals are in the open with large queues at each one and plenty of people waiting.
Maybe we’ll agree to differ. I think women and girls should have their own private toilet space in the sports bar area and I disagree with the design with that not being the case.

At Aldershot and Salford they weren't designated, much to the obvious disgust of the ladies in need.
Perhaps an example of (some) football fans behavior. It only takes one to be an bottom!!

I can't imagine many male football fans being thoughtless enough to wazz on toilet seats.

with regard to the Unisex toilets in the new sports bar, I would ask the club:

If there is a massive queue for the gents on the concourse during a game, is it OK for those chaps like myself with the bladder the size of a pea to go and use the ladies toilets?

Whilst there is a manner of logic in your point (somewhere at least), the ones proposed in the sports bar will be fully enclosed units rather than cubicles so there is a large element of safety. Working in architecture, we are putting these in more and more now in public buildings…

Just for reference if we’re looking at the questionable aspect of it, I was working on a job a year ago where the client, a public body, was wanting unisex changing rooms…

If you have done your diversity and inclusion training, you will have been told that we shouldnt pigeon hole people and by only having male and female facilities you could be discriminating against those who dont consider themselves in either group. Like it or not, just like cashless bars, its coming....

Arc leisure centre at Matlock just has one large changing room with all little cubicles in it, some single ones and some larger family ones. Same with post swim showers as well. Think its quite common in some of the newer swimming places, we went to the water park place at Scarborough a few years ago and that was the same.

Alfreton leisure centres the same.
One big changing room filled with individual cubicles and one set of showers.

There are, however, separate male and female toilet facilities

I think the point to bare in mind though, like Mr M aluded too, The Arc in Matlock or the waterpark in Scarborough isn't full of tanked up football fans. I personally can see trouble brewing. Imagine how it will be for a female using the loo, then all of a sudden the room is full of tanked up footy fans singing and swearing. How intimidating would that be?

I'm not saying that will happen but there is a good chance it will I think.
