Question should be why do clubs like Altrincham and Dorking have far more advanced ticketing systems than us that allow mobile tickets etc

We do have mobile tickets that can be scanned remotely at turnstile.

The website reads asif general sale will only be in person at the club shop and not online. Thats my issue. Not the lack of postage - they'll just send uncollected tickets to Altrincham which is fine.

It's not though is it imho, its an extra hoop being forced on Chesterfield fans for no reason whatsoever. What if there is a delay of the tickets arriving? Why should people be forced to change their plans to urine about picking tickets up?

It is a bit ridiculous. Mobile tickets surely not beyond the wit of man.

When I went to Dorking, our group had to split up because some had to pick up tickets and others had them already. Now if the Dorking solution had been allowed to stand none of that would have happened.

Mobile tickets could be issued by the host club presumably, just as we can, but when we take control of sales that option disappears.

Surely tickets can be bought on line and collected from Altrincham Ticket Office.
I am sure this usually happens with tickets not collected from CFC ticket office.

Solihull in the play-off wasn't. Not all away clubs accept the "hassle".

I agree with your first bit, but not the 2nd. The Club's announcement doesn't say that uncollected tickets will be available on match day. I've bought 2 tickets in the hope that they are available either on Friday or on Monday. It's all unclear. The Club's ticketing messages need to be much more clearer and comprehensive.

Agreed. I have a feeling that we often buy blocks of tickets, probably discounted, but the risk, of sales, passes to us.

Wasn't this a case of the home club trying to create as much hassle as possible fot their visitors!!!

Our system allows that - check out our ticket site

Barnet fans like fans of any other smaller club in the NL can buy directly from out ticket system and obtain a mobile ticket

Why did they even have to get involved at all, why are they poking their nose in and making a simple established process much harder? If there were 200 tickets I could understand it but they are doing it even when supply will be greater than demand.

I also dont get why the usual seal clapping remedials are defending the club over this. If CFC board members came into their house and smeared their faeces all over their walls they would still defend it. Such low standards.

They are doing the correct thing like the other bigger clubs do. As long as the number of season ticket holder well and truly outstrips available tickets they have every right to do it. If season ticket holders miss out in a free for all they’d have another set of moaners on their hands.

Hopefully they’ll relax it when they can be pretty sure that demand from ST holders won’t outstrip available tickets. That might be quite hard for some games if we are doing well.

They are clearly trying to eliminate handling paper tickets for home games (as can be judged from the other hoo-ha about surcharges) and presumably handling paper tickets for away games is another overhead.

Of course this is assuming it is always CFC demanding paper tickets for away games

Fair enough, but we still should be able to offer them for away games

Yes, it wouldn’t be that hard to get a load of barcodes or QA codes from the home club that will work in their scanners and allocate them to mobile tickets as we sell them - we’d just be a reseller of said codes

My guess is we're tied into an expensive and inflexible software package.

Sounds like a good idea in theory. You should contact the club and see if they’re are interested and whether the selling clubs are likely to be.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we would the first club to do this but are we trying to find a solution to a problem that doesn’t really exist.

Premiership clubs take paper away tickets, sell them online from their site and then either arrange for them to be collected or posted. Must be a reason why they don’t do the same as your suggestion - fraud maybe?

Many of the smaller grounds we go to do not have scanners handheld or otherwise.

Not a chance surely they’ll not sell tickets online to non ST holders. It’s 2022 ffs

Dorking and Altrincham clearly do, that's why they can offer these services but CFC cant when handling away tickets, that's why they should keep their nose out.
