I will be surprised if we see him this side of Christmas. Given the severity on the injury.

The way Crooty emphasised on Radio Sheffield that is was within North Derbyshire, leaves me to believe it's either Dronfield or Calow and not Tapton

Is Tapton not in NE Derbyshire?

Used to be a football and cricket pitch adjacent to the main road on the old Grassmoor Colliery Training site not far from that side of the golf course. I believe, many moons ago, it was considered as a prospective site for the new stadium. I think it's in NE Derbyshire.

The Chesterfield CC Second XI's played there regularly, My Dad was captain in the late 70's early 80's my Mum used to do the Teas with the other wives, the kids were always sent to the Training centre to fill the big water bottles for the tea samovar. Many happy days running up and down the hill to the wheel behind the pavillion/classroom where we ran for cover when it rained!

Just listened to it and they actually said that it was north Derbyshire but specifically said that it was in the Chesterfield area. Also, they said that the offer was on the table until the end of July, but if it was accepted then they want to rent the premises until the paperwork was sorted and are hoping to be in by August/September time.

So the place must be pretty much set up already and probably just needs some TLC before it's utilised. That should narrow down the options.

Theyve recently missed one potential site, North Derbyshire Youth Foootball League have just secured the old BRSA Club site at the bottom Hollingwood. They intend to build a number of all weather football pitches on the vast area of land behind and to the side of it as well as splitting the building in to a mixture of cafe, community area and changing rooms etc.

Would have made a cracking training facility, albeit would have needed some serious work before it was ready to use.

If we are right about letting Tapton House that’s one massive sight. Can’t see us pumping finance into a rented building for accommodation and the. Likes.

A purchase of such a place is no cake walk with all the ancillary costs.
God I hate this league.

That needs using, used to be a cracking set up left to rot because they thought it could be sold for housing and then found out it couldn’t be. Turned down offers for it to be sporting use eyeing up a pay day from a housing developer and went all wrong.

Obvisouly there being a “Linda’s” food outlet on the nearest street corner played a big part in choosing the location?! 🤣
