the stewards I saw pick the smoke bombs up had something similar to welding gloves on & sand buckets to put them in. something our group often comment on when one is thrown on a pitch & the stewards dither about like its an uxb.

the pitch invasion was always going to happen & Id say there weren't enough stewards to stop everybody coming on so they prioritised stopping us getting on the pitch as well & the carnage that would have ensued.

the villa Zulu got 2hatted outside & will be getting a knock at some point. no cctv in the ground is unbelievable in this day & age.

this is no way defending smfc as they are the worst organised club ive ever been to inc fa cup games. harrow had more idea how to organise the match day.
& if theres any justice itll disappear back from whence they came.

Agree, but wasn't it strange the number of sand buckets available and strategically placed. Have you seen the likes before on your travels? On at least 2 occasions at the opposite end a steward picked them up in the 6 yard box and chucked them in the general direction of the corner flag. Very H&S conscious.

Was it a good 2hatting? Town fans?

Some half hearted attempts by town fans to get in the pitch that’s all. Any group that wanted to get on would have got on easily down the side it was more posturing by most than any real effort with shandy heavily involved.

Flares thrown on the pitch on numerous occasions and the dealing with said flares being somewhat none PC and H&S safety conscious ie. picking them up and chucking them off the pitch.
Having stewards etc policing away fans but doing nowt to stop a large % of the crowd invading the pitch with flares goading away fans and allowing someone to pick up a cornerflag run the full length of the pitch and hurl it into a crowd of opposition fans in full view of countless but inactive alleged stewards

Anyone know why Cookie got very animated on at least 2 occasions in the 1st half with what looked like a crowd control officer?

It'll be interesting to see how/if the NL management have any reaction to todays events which without argument bought the NLs credibility into disrepute

You miss the point. Did anyone feel goaded? I very much doubt it.
The point being why did it happen? and apparently encouraged by the hierarchy at solihull when the outcome could have been much worse and you may have been replacing goading with a much more sinister word.

The key words being 'encouraged by the hierarchy' as implied by their fans.

Just to be clear there is no way a Villa fan would be a Zulu! Blues yes Villa certainly not.

Grist we’ve had folk in the pitch during league games. Biggest game in their history probably, it was always going to happen. Fill just looking for summat to moan at with the general pitch invasion, the villa moron aside.
Lots of issues to be addressed about the day more important than the pitch invasion at the end.

Biggest game ever for them, we have to expect the young lads to. Act daft copying other fans.

You wouldn't be saying that if that corner flag had hit someone. Stupid comment.

I really don't think you understand the reason people are issued with blue badges.

Of course I do- but there’s very limited parking at the actual Stadium. The places I said are literally about a minute further than the actual car park!

Seems there werent many of the cheaper tickets either...they have all sold out now so the cheapest option is now £45 plus fees. Initially there were no concessions for the upper tier either so kids would have had to pay that as well but seems someone has realised thats utter madness and changed it to allow concessions prices for the upper tier.

A reliable source claims that Cookies 'animation' was due to someone in the directors area making what the source describes as "abhorrent comments" at him. Apparently after consultation with stewards and officials said person was ejected.

Reading this thread it may appear that I have a tendency to suspect SMFC of using sh..housery, well to carry on that trend. You would think someone seated in the directors area would be known to fellow directors, act with decorum and have a relative high intelligence level not someone who would make embarrassing comments.
Unless of course it was part of a perverse agenda to disrupt and enrage Cookie and eventually getting him removed from the technical area.

A club rotten from the top.
