Genuinely very excited to see us have a good clear-out and have a Paul Cook moulded squad giving it a good go next season in another competitive campaign. I have full faith that Cook will get it right and put us in a good position…just the obvious Wrexham among others who could prove to be a problem.
Not just that but you could argue the awaydays down here will be better than L2 anyway next season with the exception of Mansfield,Doncaster,Bradford and maybe Tranmere. I’m really looking forward to going to York’s new ground,re-visiting Scunthorpe,Oldham,Wrexham,Notts etc. After the relegations from L2 and York’s promotion you could further argue that this division is more of a L3 than ‘non-league’ these days. Onwards and hopefully Upwards…looking forward to that released list and next season already! UTB

cook came in on a hiding to nothing, we lost our matchwinner within minutes of his return and it's been a struggle since. he's had 20 odd games to get a look at this league, he will put together a team that will be very hard to get the ball off next season for sure.
in his 4231 system the big area for me is the 2 and i'm sure he'll be on that one. looking forward to seeing cook get hold of the club properly now.

Rowe got us to an elimination play off, Cookie got us to the semi final
Next season he will assemble a top quality squad of about 21 players….something to get excited about everytime we watch them play

Agree. I’m cool about this league. For every Eastleigh, BW, etc there’s a small club in L2, Crawley, Stevenage, Mansfield, Salford etc. The refs in L2 are as bad as our refs. The difference between the NL and L2 is that I believe we have a manager who bats above both. Easy to praise a manager who references the quality of the support in every utterance but it is still very good to hear and he means it. He was brought on Shankly. Long term he’s a great appointment.

my only worry for cook is that he still has a good number of players under contract next season that he could do without, that's why i give him the patience of 2 years to get us up. for all nose biter talked of short, medium and long term planning, he was only ever on with short term planning, the rest was bs,in fact in his own mind he probably thought he'd be snapped up by higher league clubs, cook will improve the club, to do it with what he has will be a massive achievement.

They were all whining about the clash of the play off final with the Wales play off game think they were already in it...look how that ended up!

Even if we'd won yesterday, we'd probably had an almighty spanking in the final.
So this season has been progress of sorts.

This is were i am at i think Cookie will assemble a squad good enough to win the league. you could see in play offs games the pass and move game plan starting to work and more shots on target. a m8 of mine who was not convinced by cook coming back said he was starting to warm to cook's style of play yesterday. you after take into account all the injuries to key players cook's had to put up with some of the blame is James Rows fault for bringing players back to soon. so i am sure cook will bring in the right players and sort out why we have had so many injured players out at same time all season and put thinks in place so its less likely to happen again. we go again and hopefully this time next season we will be celebrating.
