I hope our manager makes it back from Paris in time for tomorrow’s match.
These go to eleven.

My uncle (who is in his 70’s) was indiscriminately tear gassed in Paris last night. Alongside woman and children. He decided to walk away and didn’t go to the game he was so distressed. My auntie had her bag stolen including her passport so they are now stuck in France for 2 more days. Make no mistake, the situation last night was caused by complete lack of organisation, heavy handed policing and local Parisians causing trouble. Just spoke to a friend who has just made it back to the UK and he’s done with European games abroad after what he experienced last night. My uncle said the same.

That’s awful mate, hope they’re ok. Completely understand them not wanting to experience that again. I’ve no doubt there were a few scousers misbehaving, it’s in their nature, but you sometimes think I’m glad I’m down at this level (NL) cos we don’t have to put up with that guff.

Because there are several lines in the city I assume and they wouldn’t necessarily take the same ones from the south.

Btw wasn’t Benzema offside when he first received the ball ?

Except its not when he gets the ball its where is he stood when the ball is first played

Give over. I’m no Liverpool fan and their fans are some of the most annoyingly arrogant supporters going but misbehaving happens at every club whether here or in Europe and are you really saying we don’t see trouble at this level of football? Talk about an axe to ground.

Hope your family get back ok, hilly pal. I’ve been Europe to watch England and experienced needless police brutality and it’s not nice. Totally understand where your uncle is coming from.

It’s very easy to blame the Liverpool fans for last night after precious events but as I mentioned yesterday you only have to read and hear reports from respected journalists, radio & tv reporters etc who were caught up in it to realise its just awful planning, bad policing etc thats caused the issues and uefa have taken the easy way out to pass the buck.

I’ve been working in Liverpool today and it appears the fake tickets thing is true and many fans did this at Wembley. I told many of them they have short memories and reminded them in their excitement of beating the system and getting into games for free can and will lead to overcrowding which was one of the contributing factors at Hillsborough.

<div><br></div><div>However, I agree with others that the way innocent fans were treated by the police needs investigating.</div>

Getting into games for free and overcrowding were not contributing factors at Hillsborough. I wouldn’t stay in Liverpool for long if you’re coming out with that.

Of course there were Liverpool fans trying to bunk in for free. Just like there were locals. Just like there were Real Madrid fans. Just like there were thousands of England fans at Wembley last summer. You’re out of order if you think that is Liverpool specific. The picture being painted by the French authorities is completely different to that of the people on the ground including Spanish media and French media.

You don’t see tear gassing of children and the older generation. The police on the day were treating this as a riot. Hard to judge everything when the Police had no options but to close the gates rather than have unruly crowds surging into the stadia with horrific consequences.

Not enough perimeter pre checking carried out at these games, the fans should be made aware of multiple checks and to arrive early.
God I hate this league.

I wasn’t stating that it was Liverpool specific as there are clear videos of Madrid fans and locals climbing over the fences, my concern was the potential implications of a significant number of fans with fake tickets going into a ground that was already full. I also agree that the French authorities and FIFA will use any ammunition to deflect away from their own mistakes

The figures quoted by the French authorities are absolutely laughable. https://twitter.com/...OugKwyy7hzl7Wjw

You are right Benning at the end of the day the Liverpool fans have gained unauthorised access to big games/stadia by what ever means possible and the main point is they’ve been doing it without cause for the safety of everyone else. We soon hear them criticise when at the end of the day they are a contributory factor.
God I hate this league.
