There's a hole in the pitch. Police are looking in to it.

i'd think if it looks like it can't/won't be resolved quickly something like you suggest would be the case.

Hypothetically if it’s a Police matter could the club to put JR on gardening leave until the end of the season, appoint an interim or someone to work with Webb and come back to the matter in the summer?

Is there a budget in place to pay one manager to be on gardening leave and another to be doing the job? costly exercise.

What makes you think Rowe was any different?

They were under the mad Italian owners at the time who were draining the club financially. They had virtually a full team of U18s playing in the league. It's not a fair comparison to look at his time there and question his record

Fair enough maybe the circumstances weren't ideal but I'm still not convinced, the vast majority of time promoting the coach to manager ends in failure

I have a suspicion however this plays out there’s going to be cost involved at some point.

Yes possibly buying out someone else's contract at another club, nearly always a cost when recruiting a manager. Id be surprised if theres a cost to Rowe though, because if hes innocent or the charge is minimal, he can stay, if its misconduct/gross misconduct then there wouldnt be a requirement to pay him off.

If there’s another party involved there may be cost there.

I think the majority of posters are in that hole digging like frenzy on this thread. Doesn't look as if it's going to slow for the immediate future either.Posted ImagePosted Image

If James Rowe does not return as our manager, who ever comes inherites a very strong squad, mainly free of injuries and capable of beating most teams.

There is no pressing need to sign anyone just get the best out of what we have.

The pressure to succeed will be slightly tempered by whats happened.

Its not a bad proposition, particularly when compared to what others have walked into recently. A very dull silver lining in a black storm cloud.

I don't agree about injuries, we've key players carrying knocks; not so key players being used and not match-fit and that's affecting performances.

I meant reduced long term injuries, but do appreciate what you say.

Overall though its a far healthier propspect than that faced by Jack Lester , Danny Wilson, The Clowns Saunders & Caudwell etc we are on the up not down

Should we need to appoint a new manager and approach PC, one his main considerations would be what damage him taking the job and NOT getting us promoted could do to his career prospects. In a sense, us being handily placed in 3rd or 4th would offer less potential damage than if he was taking over a team top of the league at the time. It can only go wrong from there.

Fail to prepare & prepare to fail.

I would like to think that the board have already got somebody lined up if need be and that the person who is in line has already started researching the team, watching videos of games etc. Learning ( should they not understand) about the sport science equipment and how we use it. Just so they know what they are walking into.
Life goes on. Whatever happens.

The board were seeking to identify Rowe's successor shortly after he walked in the door. Don't know how far they got with that, hopefully much of the legwork has already been done.
We're on our way

That i for a situation where we can approach his successor and offer him a job.
At the moment there is no job to offer.
We need a caretaker now and please not Webb.

Paul Cook back to Chesterfield? I believe it’s a possibility. He’s available, keen to be back in work, obvious very soft spot for #Spireites. Board has a delicate situation to resolve - but I’d be surprised if exploratory contact hasn’t already been made.
