Credit to them, they turned us over which only one other team has done in the league this season.

Not good enough on the night so we show a bit of class, take it on the chin and look for 3 points on Saturday.

The worry is that the one other team played exactly the same.

The reality is that in 2 / 3 seasons there is going to be a situation where the National League is going to be stronger than League 2. This is due to only 2 promotion places currently keeping teams trapped in this league. It should be 3 up.

It’s catch 22, I’ve been saying for years now that the Conference and L2 were becoming equal, and as you quite rightly pointed out, the conference is probably now stronger!

I mean look at League 2 pub sides like Forest Green, Crawley, Stevenage, Mansfailed etc. It's ****.

Think Grimes might be in storage after tonight.
Being told to eff off by the manager is never a good sign.

Well, a frustrating night I'm afraid. Started poorly & found ourselves 2 down from 3 chances. We looked leggy & tired. Another special free kick from King & things looked different again right on half time.
Second half we tore them a new one for 25 minutes & should've had the game won. We then seemed to run out of steam, they got a bit of pressure on us & we concede a sucker punch. We didn't look like getting a 3rd.
Of course idiots like Walton will be p**sing their pants tonight over this but for the rational amongst us, yes it was a disappointing night but we showed plenty of fight got back into the game & really should've got a point.
There will be downs as well as ups & what really matters is how we respond. 3 points Saturday & this is forgotten about.

It’s a funny old game. Echo the points made by other posters who were there. We were all over them at the start of the second half, a bit of luck we would have got a third but they had a bit of luck to get ahead. Was it luck or just a great flick on from a corner? I do know that sticking Payne on for a defender was a waste of time as we just lumped it forward after their goal which their giant defenders were lapping up. No need to panic- yet!

Ironically, Maidenhead could do us a big favour by turning Halifax over on Saturday.

Also went along tonight - with two family members and a work colleague. Probably not a good time to admit I still havent seen us win this season....

I didnt like the line up, one up front is ok if you have the midfield to do it but, apart from one burst through by Kellerman, the midfield offered little support. Back three didnt look like they had played together before either. We did well to get back into when Asante joined Kabby up top, and then we took Mandeville off which seemed to spoil the shape. No idea why he thought swapping grimes for Payne was a good idea either.

Poor performance, in general. We were OK when we got it down but too much lumping it against a team feet taller than us, and not enough quick movement through the middle in the first half.

MotM? possibly one of the subs that didnt get on?

Shocking 1st half performance, as bad as at Woking. Kellerman was awful, Manderville and Krol no better. Apart from our 2 goals, the only plus points were motm King, Grimesand Whittle. Big let down for the 323 travelling fans, we can safely say the part timers are definitely our bogey team.I trust Rowe to put us back on track with another long unbeaten run like he did after Woking, disappointed that JR did not acknowledge the fans at the end,ye is quick to accept the plaudits when we have won. The players came over so should JR have done, the fans are still right behind him, after all we have only lost 2 in 22.COYB.

Very disappointing result. Thought we’d go on to win it when we pulled it back to 2-2. Still, got to take stock and realise it’s only our second loss of the season. Rowe usually ensures a swift bounce back so hoping for a nice W against Aldershot on Saturday. I was really hoping for 3 wins from these 3 games though, all immensely winnable.

I woke up this morning and the first thing I thought was about this defeat. I had to think about naked ladies to make it go away.

Sometimes mate it’s best to keep some things to yourself. Just a bit dodgy otherwise.

You don't find the thought of an old bloke entertaining himself appealing?

The result was humiliating. A draw was the least I could have accepted. A win against Aldershot won't make up for this defeat. Victories against promotion rivals will.

Well that was fun!, pre match jovialities apart.

Why do we concede so many free kicks early doors (!!!)) after 20ish minutes my joviality affected mind (so it could be wrong) made it 7-0 in their favour. This gives the opposition chance to gain a none footballing advantage or in other words chance to use their hieght and physicality making us wary and setting the stall out for the rest of the game. How come players of allegedly a lesser standard than ours appear capable of not committing such offences? considering that their centre half's appeared to be in competition to see who could best plait KT hair to his shirt.Strange.

JR clearly selected the wrong team, if Gunning was unfit then Kerr should have been in to deal with the above threat. The main mistake was the selection of both Mandeville and Kellerman (is it worthwhile employing a body language coach) both too easily bullied and in conditions, a bobbley pitch making both their contributions negligible. The pitch (bad bounce) did for Weston leading to their first, an intended short pass going hopelessly arwy. We still should have defended the rest of the play better but the outcome appeared very similar to barnets goal. The rest of the half was boot it towards KT who was out muscled by 3 defenders resulting in lost possession yet again We didn't have the craft/physique to hold the ball up top or the craft or trust in the pitch to 'football'our way through.

Second half, different game 2 up top all their defenders occupied dragging their midfielders deeper giving ours more time and space, if only we'd done this from the outset. Then the sucker punch awful defending our players everywhere and they appeared to have 3 unmarked giants queuing to head the ball home, where was Mad Gav?

Against teams like these, on shall we say under prepared pitchs we can't 'football our way to victory' mistakes will be made affecting the overhaul outcome.

As Seth Armstrong (who) once said "more cunning and guile required" from midfield and more importantly we can't afford to wait for TD we need an imposing figure up front for such games as this.

A 6'4/5' targetman/striker is a must.PLEASE
