true but if available i think he'd make the bench ahead of payne who's pitch time has reduced considerably over the last half or dozen games. add to that carline and denton both scheduled for a feb return, i'd assume they are back in training to some degree, feb not that far away.

Carline? I thought he was the season at least ?

In my mind, I think it was initially suggested that George might just be back for the final games of the season, possibly April. I have heard nothing to the contrary since but it would be great news if is return is next month.

Apart from Clarke who JR has now confirmed is out for the season I believe we have Rowley, Carline, Denton and Hollis currently out. Of those 4 only 2 have played any football this season and JR has suggested a couple might need to go out on loan to get back to match fitness. I'm not sure but my thoughts are that Rowley will be first to return, followed by Denton, then Carline and last Hollis. As such, I did think that it would be Rowley and Denton going out on loan.

I’m not even convinced Rowley’s injured.

Interesting concept, but, yes, strange we never seem to have an update. One for a Liam to enquire about.

Agreed it would be nice to know. Didn’t it turn out to just be some bad bruising instead of a broken leg or something like that and they could only scan once the swelling went down? I’ve seen him jog from the tunnel to the away end where the rest of our players sit to watch games a couple of times. I know you can’t tell by just looking at the lad but he looks fine and has done for months now.

Just seen this on the highlights. Absolute corker! Although, doubt any of us were expecting it and with DR, I find myself doing just that.

Don't agree about Denton. JR has repeatedly referred to the 'weapons' he brings to the team, which nobody else does. I can't see him needing to go out on loan to build up fitness, because his game isn't based on constant movement over a distance, so he isn't charging from one end of the pitch to the other. I think he will be straight back into the squad, as an option off the bench, as soon as he is fit enough to play.

Or just leaving.

You’d assume Tyson given his age will want to go somewhere and play more. This is likely to be his final season

He did say he’d like to finish with promotion and the title with us though earlier this season.

I think the opposite. He’s probably chill just winding down and hopefully getting a title win.

Yet, JR did suggest he'll assess how Tom does in training and if thought necessary he could go out on loan.

You say "as soon as he is fit enough to play" but there is a difference between being "fit" and "match fit". Hopefully, Denton will return like Asante has to first team action so we will have to wait and see.

Must admit, after the injury toll at the end of last season and the first half of this one I am all for keeping as big a squad as possible of fit players.

If I was Tyson and assuming he wants to stay in the game in some coaching or managing role what better place to learn and soak up the environment he is experiencing at present. We really have a very talented young manager who leaves no stone unturned and nothing to chance, open minded and driven.

crolls reaction at full time last saturday was one of pure joy as he walked towards us, he looked like he was really happy with life, what we didn't know at that point as it had been lost in the whole chelsea build up is that he had just signed his extension to the end of the season, hard to believe that he was wihout a club when we signed him, another impressive find by the club.

Bump

Well what a fabulous accolade for Luke by the manager last night. JR thinks that Luke has great untapped potential. Early days, but such an endorsement really puts the cat amongst the pigeons in terms of our best defence.
Get it on, bang the gong , get it on
