Its not a progression of his career to leave is and join Southend but if (and it's a big IF) he does leave us for them it will be a big b****ck he'd be dropping.

But the move for him is all a bit quick after Saturdays result so is their owner just being a bit of a devil and throwing a spanner into the works because of the support our fans showed against him or has JR expressed an interest to them already?

Some Southend fans seem to think no smoke without fire, Rowe has somehow indicated he may be interested and if he’s not allowed to talk to them he’ll force our hand to allow it. I’d be amazed if that’s anything other that utter crap!

Agree. JR is intelligent enough to know that his long-term career will only progress if he is seen to be successful. Jumping ship before success is achieved would be a stupid move because he would have virtually no chance of gaining promotion with them this season, and a good chance of achieving it with us. The very earliest IMO, he might be tempted, is if we miss promotion this season, having come close. What I think will happen is that he will take us up this season and stay with us in L2, at least to start with, and probably for the whole season. A good showing in L2 following promotion this season would lead to much more credible bids for his services. I might be wrong, but I'd put the chances of him moving to Southend or anywhere else this season at close to zero.

If Rowe gets us back into the real League and then leaves, fair play and of course I’d wish him well, as I’m sure most would.
