I would go further than that. He was actually telling supporters to come on the pitch. Surely this should be in the referees report. Is it not incitement? I don't mind people celebrating or even giving some stick back but he seriously crossed the line.

Then fans should be allowed to take up his invitation and kick the **** out of him and everyone would be happy

As soon as the final whistle went their keeper went to the side of the goal giving it the big come on to our fans

he then retreated to the edge of the penalty area and the safety of his team mates to give it some more come on which was pathetic really to see

He had also just incited the kop by standing like a ****** with the ball up his back as the referee was looking where it was to restart the match

As soon as another ball was thrown on the keeper of course threw the original ball back towards the half way line inciting the crowd even more but the officials did nothing to punish him

If we had had a repeat of the Ebsfleet incident then imo only one person would have been solely to blame but it would have been our fans brought to task

Yep top sh**housery of course but you do realise it’s a pantomime - it’s only a game of football.
30,000 fans can call a player whatever they want - a player reacts and some fans get all mardy and report them etc.

Perhaps the most disheartening aspects of all this are the use of the word 'snowflake' by anyone, anytime to refer to anything other than snow, and the always-evident fact that English-speakers just shout "Come on" when their brains are empty of anything else.
These go to eleven.

in this case though CPS the odd thing was that our fans weren't even winding the keeper up, there'd be nothing all game, not even really the usual goal kick jeering, yet at full time the guy acted, well for me the word is embarassing to be honest, i can accept him celebrating but have some class and go do it with your own

We are clearly still a huge scalp at this level - tinpot scrubbers go mental when they score against us, shushing the crowd etc. even when they've had zero abuse. Really weird and cringe but part of being in this God-awful league.

What baffles me is the keeper giving it the big un at the end but both goals he seemed to tip the ball straight out to Tshimanga. Hardly anything to be bragging about or maybe it was a bit of relief he hadnt cost his team points.

I think you’ve hit the nail on the head, they are scrubbers. You often see the odd stupid goal celebration designed to aggravate the opposition support at a higher level but never this prolonged over the top scrub behaviour.

Just have to prey we don’t adopt the same.

Absolutely correct. Why do some supporters think it's perfectly ok for them to scream all sorts of abuse towards players (and officials), then start bleating when a bit of flack comes back towards them?

by & large id agree with you but saturday was a strange one. the goalkeeper hadnt recieved any abuse during the 90mins, in fact i cant remember any torquay player being singled out for abuse. at the fulltime whistle there was the expected disgruntlement but the goalkeeper went well over the top with his actions. if he was well within his rights to carry on like he did why did downes drag him away?

I'm not saying he wasn't acting idiotically, and Downes sensibly did that to prevent precisely what I'm on about from happening - a fan thinking it's such a big issue that it needs an even dafter reaction. I prefer to ignore it as it's not important.

Because they are supposed to be professional

And inciting trouble is beyond irresponsible

I'm sure any mature person would adopt your attitude and ignore. However the targets of McDonald's actions were the immature youngsters he knew this and was looking for a reaction.

An example needs to be made
Derbyshire is Derbyshire
Yorkshire is Yorkshire

Never the twain shall meet.

Spot on with that. I normally enjoy it when the 'keeper gives it back to the fans after a load of abuse - they've every right in the circumstances to do so, as far as I'm concerned - but that silly little boy in the Torquay goal had an easy time of it. His reaction would have looked immature in a school playground, and as for actually gesticulatong to come on and get me, it can't be overlooked by any sensible league management, which obviously Aaaron Downes, top man, became aware of.
Some things, a lot of things, can be excused in the rough and tumble of football, but a line has to be drawn somewhere.

Agree but this was a player for Torquay, a FL club for donkeys years, not a London bus stop. The lad in goal was a total moron and embarrassment to his club and needs a serious talking to by Downsey. It's bad enough with Asswipe at Boreham Wood!

Ex-player and all that, and I liked him here, but that's the same Downesy who was waving at his players to slow down when they were returning to their own half after they equalised. He'll be giving the keeper a bonus.
It's nice to be able to Trust again.

Maybe players will stop thinking that were a big scalp if our support stop thinking that were too big to be where we are.
We all want promotion but if the supporters can stop being snobbish about the league were in then other supporters/players would look at the club with a different attitude.
Life goes on. Whatever happens.

We have history, no wonder opposition players try to rile our crowd up!
