if like the one at queens park it could mean one full size pitch which can be sectioned off into 3 x 5 aside pitches, most of the ones on school sites are like this too.

Same as they have at Brookfield, one full sized pitch that can be split into thirds to be used for smaller games. I'd be surprised if its more that one pitch on Stand Road for this application as its tucked up in the corner behind where the new retail place is that used to the fire station. Other space on there is already used for grass pitches either full sized or marked out for smaller junior team matches.

Thought you’d be up to scratch with the info, I will wait until someone posts the details.

The meeting was last Tuesday. There are definitely some residents that have dug their heels in and will not change their minds and have absolutely no interest in what the trust does.
Not entirely sure what the next stage is.

No, but they're the ones with the objections. The thing is the council took the proposal to the Trust, not the other way around so I can't see planning not being passed.

Presumably the council make a decision taking on board all the opinions, regulations etc as to whether it can go ahead or not.

For example there has been quite a lot of opposition to the introduction of a new bike lane along Chatsworth Rd from Storrs Rd to Holymoorside but they've still approved that. Also if you read the documents on the planning portal there was a fair amount of folk unhappy with the new building on the car park that will be part bar part classroom for the trust, some of it pretty farcical issues with it as well.

Unless I am misunderstanding what you are saying would the fact that the council is onside make it more likely to pass.

That was really pathetic stuff given the number of retail, food and alcohol outlets in the area

One of the ones i saw said they werent happy with the amount of cars parked in the area for matches and having the bar onsite will mean people hang around longer therefore cars will be in the area longer!

I'd tell the residents to flit, some of them try to block anything for the public in the park.its always been a great area for big events Carnivals, fairs, circus, swimming baths, fireworks.the park belongs to the Borough not to a few "friends" of the park.there are 100s of kids alone, who will be crying out for such facilities.

I've seen some comments complaining about the park is for everyone not just football etc...they seem to think this pitch is taking over the whole park not just a small area. It will still leave the grass pitches as they are, the play area etc all untouched and free for everyone to use whilst at the same time providing a facility the area really needs.

Some feedback would be nice.

I assume that, technically, a couple of byelaws will need tweeking as they would if extending the use of the existing grass pitches say by floodlighting were being considered.

I think the key to this is the Trust's commitment, to residents, to proper management and supervision of the facility at all times.
