The outcome of the National League season will be shaped by the EFL and as a result no decision is expected until next week at the earliest.

80% of the Pyramid has seen their season declared null and void.No relegations and no promotions.
The FA has placed the National League in an awkward position, to say the least.
How can any team from the NL be relegated when they wont be from its North and South divisions? Rhetorical questions the way.
You might argue it is the National League has placed the FA in a awkward position.

I think a lot of secondary companies have remained open due to the fact they still have customers open wanting their products, they still have supply routes open and they still have staff able and willing to work (with the necessary social distancing measures in place).
If its being managed cocrrectly, i dont see any issue with this, as it reduces the burden on the state purse and also gives far more companies a fighting chance of surviving the pandemic and remaining in business.
I also know of companies who've asked staff to go on to reduced hours rather than furlough them to account from the drop in work load but to ensure they maintain the business they do have.

Apparently Mansfield home games can restart as the supporters have a 10 metre gap between them

Mansfield will be one of the first teams to open for fans due to them all being related in some way.

However, at this stage, where only a minority have anything to gain from the season continuing (in any league) then the majority (clubs with nowt to play for) are always going to vote in favour of ending the season. The Premier League may be an exception due to their TV deal but at our level, though ending the season favours us in our quest to avoid regional football, it seems to me that promotion and relegation on a points per game basis is fairer than simply voiding the season.

Yep, it's interesting because we're primed to always think democracy is a good thing but this is a good example where it is completely flawed. Needs an independent review, unfortunately that's virtually impossible.

League 2 clubs have indicated this is what they want to do but apparently still needs an EFL vote and within that a majority of Championship clubs to agree :-

I think some are jumping the gun a tad on League Two. They've held an indicative vote. It was unanimous but it's not final & binding yet. That requires an EFL vote, with a 50+1 majority AND a majority in Championship. I suspect that's where we're heading but we're not there yet.

Seems as fair as it’s going to get. You can make a case for relegating Stevenage and promoting 2nd in the NL but there are logical arguments against it too.
On the assumption that they make it through this period and stay in business Stevenage should count themselves very fortunate as they were nailed on to be relegated.

Definitely. Know a Stevenage fan through watching England he said they deserve it to be honest, they've been a shambles but it is a reprieve for them. If the NL play offs are cancelled I imagine Harrogate and Notts C in particular will have a grumble and Barrow also could count themselves lucky, as they weren't nailed on for promotion either.

I would also relegate Chorley (a bit tough on them, but they're miles adrift) and promote one each from National League North and South, with unweighted points per game used if that's being adopted universally. Would be a bit strange to continue with play-offs in those leagues if they don't happen in the National League.
Obviously all subject to change though if any clubs cease to exist before next season starts, whenever that might be.
