Only you on VE Day - a day celebrating freedom from oppression could bring up a negative story about this- people fleeing oppression from their home tyrants seeking freedom and security, wiling to risk their lives to do so.....

It’s illegal and happening every day, like grey squirrels of the 21st century

I believe in law and order, the law of the land, the French are taking the urine again, they should show some respect on this of all days

Is the UK really the first safe country or just the softest touch

We need to come down hard, really, really hard

Brexit going well 😁 more and more illegal immigrants coming over on a daily basis. Folk will be wondering what they voted for....

EU immigration has dropped (obviously), while non EU immigration has climbed a fair whack.

It is interesting that, since the Tories came to power, immigration was allowed to consistently climb, year on year, to it's highest levels in 2016. They certainly didn't get a grip on immigration, quite the opposite. Makes you wonder....

Easier to just chuck em in the channel and kill em. You'd really be able to get your rocks off then

No, just do as Australia and New Zealand do, stop them coming in without proper reason. And in the current climate anybody who is allowed in then quarenteen them for 14 days. But I don't see much criticism of those two countries on here.

Maybe it deserves its own thread, but international rules on asylum are very clear. And they don’t include crossing entire continents to be eligible.

Probably not no, but does it need national media and the police to report someone reporting on it? Probably not either.
A new hope.

Lyrics from Jimmy Durrante

Ever had the feeling that
you wanted to go,
But still had the feeling that you wanted to stay,
You knew it was right, it wasn't wrong.
Still you knew you wouldn't be very long.
Go or stay, stay or go,
Start to go again and change your mind again.
It's hard to have the feeling that you wanted to go,
But still have the feeling that you wanted to stay.

Tossing a coin must be a problem for you, heads or tails and you can't choose the edge. That's if you can make a choice before it lands. Red or white wine? Better go for Rose.

What shiイe lyrics - how old is this Durrante? 5?

True but in this case quite apt. He died in 1972

Most are.

You’re not a decent human being for not charging full whack for a place for people to live when they’re been furloughed. You’re just not a tw**. But I’m not surprised that you’re so eager to pat yourself on the back, you do appear to have a laughably high opinion of yourself.

Those that know me would find what you say about me quite amusing. I find what you say about people who have different views to you quite amusing as you are convinced they are wrong - which suggests that YOU have a very high opinion of yourself.

Have a nice weekend.

Although with the developments with airline passengers being quarantined it probably does deserve to be on this thread, an average of 400-500 a week turning up carrying who knows what diseases

Why always issues with people coming into the country?

Look at Sky news last night to see hundreds of people doing stupid things like street parties or pubs in Sheffield having lock ins or the parties in Derbyshire etc etc.

Whilst I agree with your point about the stupidity of people in this country it would now seem, due to quite a few scientific opinions that the spread of this virus away from hospitals and care homes is now minuscule if evident at all and folk in this country have been present since the out break, those coming into the country are an unknown entity.

No I ageee of course - I’d lockdown all borders at present and not allow anyone to travel abroad or come in from abroad (but just pointing out the hypocrisy of S&D)

Personally I think the border issue horse has bolted through the stable door and the virus in the uk will now run its course.

Well stepping over you comparing desperate human beings to squirrels, and the inference people who suffered under the Nazi jackboot should somehow tug their forelocks in our direction, does your 'really, really' hard line belief in the law of the land extend to drug taking?

Because several members of the current cabinet have admitted doing so - including a Bozo born abroad!

So, is it deportation or fruit picking in chains for them?

How ungracious of you to draw attention to the ethnicity or place of birth of so many members of Her Majesty’s Government. I would like to extend the lack of grace even further for S and D’s benefit and remind him of Nigel Farage’s ethnic roots in Spain, his marriage, albeit I believe now dissolved, to a German lady, and to the fact that, until recently, Farage had never worked for a British company. Rant over. I shall now sit down and wait in profound expectation to this evening’s much trailered 7pm message from our Messiah. I wonder how much further it will go than his first epistle at the start of the crisis (or was it some weeks into it?) when he told us that we should wash or hands often and not book cruise holidays.

It didn't go unnoticed how Bozo - thankfully, of course - 'rose again' at Easter.

Adding (all together now) 'He's not the Messiah; he's a very naughty boy...'.

Desperate human beings?

Desperate for what? To get to the UK for an easy ride

Asylum rules are quite clear and agreed by all countries, we are not the nearest safe refuge, but we are the softest touch

They might also be dubbed courageous or crazy given the UK's status as a Covid hot-spot.

But anyway, as usual you ducked my question: should the law you supposedly hold so sacresanct apply to everyone? Including cabinet members who're the sons and daughters of immigrants (Raab...Sunak...Patel...etc...etc...etc...) or the Gove and Bozo who not only headed the 'Leave' campaign found guilty of breaking electoral rules but admitted sniffing stuff they shouldn't?

Come on pal, let's not have any 'soft touch', here...

I ducked the question because it was ludicrous

If I’m reading it correctly it’s along the lines of

We shouldn’t be enforcing the law on illegal immigration because some MP’s took a puff whilst at Eton?

And you accuse others of deflection
