Do you mean intellect increase or experience increase? I have worked in cities as far north as Edinburgh, Liverpool, Manchester, and before London in Peterborough, Leicester and Birmingham heading south. You experience different things in each one but nowhere prepares you for how different life is in London. The commute is different, living costs are different, working is different (I remember being told when in Yorkshire that less than 2 years in a job was a sign you couldnt hack it, down here after 6 months everyone is looking for another job). The pressures are different and how it makes you see the world is different, in my humble opinion.
To be honest, don't like the London life at all but it pays the bills so I will stick it until I am told I am not needed (which with income of zero currently might not be far away!)
