It is becoming apparent that SOME (that's some and not all) who move into the environs on the periphery of the 'smoke' seem to a acquire some, self proclaimed intellect increase.

Do you mean intellect increase or experience increase? I have worked in cities as far north as Edinburgh, Liverpool, Manchester, and before London in Peterborough, Leicester and Birmingham heading south. You experience different things in each one but nowhere prepares you for how different life is in London. The commute is different, living costs are different, working is different (I remember being told when in Yorkshire that less than 2 years in a job was a sign you couldnt hack it, down here after 6 months everyone is looking for another job). The pressures are different and how it makes you see the world is different, in my humble opinion.

To be honest, don't like the London life at all but it pays the bills so I will stick it until I am told I am not needed (which with income of zero currently might not be far away!)

Well I would say that it worked out better than the Brown govt, better than Cameron on his own and better than BoJo will - and also that when you add moderation to extremes it normally improves them. But I dont expect you to agree, that's fine, we can all have a view.

I make decisions every day. I made a decison to let my tenants pay less rent as they have been furloughed. Not defer it you understand, pay less. Took me 10 seconds or less. Why, because its an easy one and it doesnt take long to look at both sides and decide. But I looked at both sides and both options first. Only an idiot wouldnt.

When I was 15 I thought I knew everything. When I was 18 I knew I knew everything. When I was 21, after 3 years at Uni, I realised I only knew most things. When I was 30, after 9 years at work and mixing with some brilliant people, I realised I knew f all and the world was way more complicated than my little mind could comprehend. Normally as you get older you realise life isnt black and white. Well, you do if you open yourself up to different experiences to realise what you dont know. Good luck with Hasland Boy.

Well it wouldn’t be a post from you without an anecdote about how much of a good person you are or how important you are. Well done for not fleecing your tenants when they’ve been furloughed, give yourself a bit pat on the back for not being a massive piece of sh** fella.

Anyway, re. Covid, this is interesting https://www.theguard...19-advice#img-2

I thought all landlords were money grabbing b*****s? wouldnt be a post from you without you missing the big picture and responding to the words in a childish petulant manner.

But I will give myself a pat on the back for being a decent human being. You might be able to one day. When you grow up.

I see things on all sides, I am a miners son who works with millionaires. I just believe that the fairest route is normally something that most people can buy in to, and if you strayed out of Bowsa for a while you would realise that middle England in the south will never vote for a left wing extreme govt - so you can either support a protest party who says a lot and does little or you can grab the centre, appeal to those that will get you elected and then actually get to implement something.

I suspect some of the high and mighty in the Unions and Labour dont want power based on prior policies...

Your comment name-checking Boza makes no sense as that constituency rejected a perceived left-wing and returned a Tory MP.

I have a great anecdote, I stayed in one of his hotels in the chain he works for on company business. On entering the bathroom for the first I encountered a pair of ball bags left hanging to dry in the shower by the previous occupant.

The great thing about anecdotes is that you can never really fact check them, unlike that splendid article you’ve just posted a link to.

The former. How can you turn it into a question?

I'm familiar with drying the old ball bag but never been able to do it without being present.

Most are.

You’re not a decent human being for not charging full whack for a place for people to live when they’re been furloughed. You’re just not a tw**. But I’m not surprised that you’re so eager to pat yourself on the back, you do appear to have a laughably high opinion of yourself.

So?

It’s illegal and happening every day, like grey squirrels of the 21st century

I believe in law and order, the law of the land, the French are taking the urine again, they should show some respect on this of all days

Is the UK really the first safe country or just the softest touch

We need to come down hard, really, really hard

No problem. Nigel Farage has been spending quite a lot of time there recently and he would have been able to welcome them.

Why don’t the left care about illegal migrant activity that will cost hundreds of millions?

At a time like this

They could be carrying all sorts of viruses

Only you on VE Day - a day celebrating freedom from oppression could bring up a negative story about this- people fleeing oppression from their home tyrants seeking freedom and security, wiling to risk their lives to do so.....
