Fair point regarding our not knowing the full picture, pal.

I posted a reference to France including the whole lot but it's still unclear who replicates.

Hell, even our 'new' number only features those actually tested.

I don't think we should get sidetracked from main point, though (which was probably the intent all along): we have a government that had weeks to prepare - infact years given the utterly ignored 'Cygnus' thing - yet left both public and frontline staff vulnerable by it's complacent, maybe even arrogant negligence.

First, second, third or whatever in the table of tragedy - Bozo's bunch promised preparedness yet delivered deciet...

Totally agree re the last minute change of how testing figures were calculated, why don't they just be honest and say the targets on testing, although numbers are greatly improving, won't be met!

Hancock's target was to provide 100k tests. Pete was provided but is awaiting his result.

What's needed now are new stats clarifying how many people cannot get a test even though they have asked for one, and indicating whether the results turn round time is acceptable, ie whether capacity is available.

SKS, who I thought was superb at PMQ's and an order of magnitude better than Corbyn, is urging patience on premature interpretation of performance and recriminations until the number of 'excess' deaths is known in every country. Although statistical, it's a very accurate estimate of how many have succumbed to the virus, including indirect causes.

Not gonna get involved with semantics, Dave.

We both know the hundred thousand thing was political posturing. And weeks too late.

SKS is right; the true figure will only emerge in months to come when death rates can be compared with different years. By which time Bozo's bunch will be treating Covid the same way they treat reports into Russian interference.

Maybe the new Labour leader's first big test is ensuring that dun't happen...

In fact I have been told I have been provided with one by post but it still hasn't arrived. I have been told not to administer the test when it arrives before next week. I was also told I was not to disclose to anyone (it specifically mentioned social media) that I had been sent the test. With 18k employees it is possible that not all the tests were sent out on Thursday I guess...

I honestly think it’s a control thing, and they are frightened of not wanting to appear to be in full control. As you say, they would be better saying we’re going try to ramp up testing as much as we can, we’d like to see xxx number of tests a day by date xxx or as close to that as we can can get.
A new hope.

Nightingale hospital closing end of month.
Only had in total about 50 patients (which is good of course)!

Depends if people are going to stick to it until the removal happens. Along Brim Rd, today looks like a normal day. Loads of folk about.

Tbh a bit of both!
I have worked all through and have been very busy so quite profitable but would still want to get back to normal. A team I’m currently doing stuff with are back on Monday for team training (although a spaced out version).

I think people are pretty much being sensible about the lockdown - people are starting to get out and about as best they can but with certain self imposed measures in place (masks, social distancing etc).

Aren’t some hotels reopening? I see Hooiday InnExpress has been open

Hotels can only open to serve essential workers, those who cant get home, or the homeless. We kept one open in central London and one at Heathrow for a few days after lockdown but it was not worth it and turning people away who didnt fit any of the categories was difficult...

We will open when the govt say we can now.... although a friend who is in construction has asked if we can open one of smaller hotels for the guys on his site who cant find anywhere to stay....they have been driving in but the cheap parking is being pulled....

Yep - and a few open for those with long term guests.
There’s one in Chelsea which has half long term guests and is open for them.

Claridges is open for senior NHS consultants - very nice too for them !

We have live in staff at some....

I heard Claridges was open for NHS and no grade restrictions, its free to all staff.

I'd say a second wave is almost guaranteed, look at China, and Singapore. My boss in Singapore is saying there is more concern about this second wave than the first outbreak. I reckon we are guaranteed a second spike - the question is how bad....

That sounds fancy, maybe I can get a transfer? I'm in University of Surrey student accommodation and it's pretty decent to be fair. En suite, huge shared kitchen. Not bad at all, certainly better than my old uni digs in 1997.
Guess I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue!

Being positive won’t stop anyone contracting this virus. I’m surprised at your rather laid back attitude. With your background you will know that an injury isn’t cured until the treatments finished. We’re only at the prognosis stage with the virus and the best course of treatment isn’t yet agreed.

My son was at Uni of Surrey, he was pretty impressed. I was paying so less so....

Thanks for all you are doing, hope all goes well and if you can make a home game next season let me know and I will sort hospitality for you and a guest to say thanks
