if Gerard plays we don't lose the game. interesting comment, is he really going to be needed that much to organise? i'll raise again (sorry) the issue of wedgbury, from what I've seen of him he is a player that organises and demands. I can only assume he is not fit, he seems to tick many of the boxes otherwise, albeit this is from limited viewing of him but i'll say again if he can't get a game ahead of weir and Weston... well i'm not sure why.

Agree on this! Wedgbury must have had a knock...him over Weston any day!

I think Wedgebury is purely competition for Weir and not Weston, doesn’t exactly look the most mobile I think he’s a sit in front of the back 4 and mop up type.

I only saw Westbury come on as a sub against Sheff Utd but he didn't impress me.

That said, neither did Weir nor Weston today, thought Weir was slightly better than Weston but that's as far as it goes.

There's no way on earth one player, i.e. Gerrard, makes a difference to the absolute garbage we saw today.

Sheridan talks all the time about players giving a 7/10 performance, I am struggling to remember too many games where I've felt either Weston or weir have hit that mark, general 5/10 (Weston) and 6/10 (weir) and both were below even that today, could a wedgbury/smith cm partnership be any worse? sad that i'm throwing this kind of discussion up about cm on day one, usually a mid season talking point.

Not true. There were some matches last season when a Dyche or a Law at their current ages could have got us some points. You tell players what their job is and that it’s their fault if they don’t do it. Sadly lacking today if the vibes I’m getting are correct.
Get it on, bang the gong , get it on

I heard the team and knew we were not going to get anything out the game.injuries/illness left us with a bench of kids(apart from wedgebury)No striker to at least have a go.whete were Rawson and amantchi? So frustrating to see them bring a striker on who single handed my changed the game, and we had nothing to offer.poor recruitment leaving us with no depth.

Why no subs? We were beaten by fresh legs on a warm day. Obviously no confidence in any of the bench. So why employ them? Bid mistake yesterday. As soon as we had taken the lead he knew they'd change things and come at us. Should've covered their changes. Disappointing decision.

Which first teamers missed yesterday injured? Hollis, Maguire, Denton, Spyrou, Gerrard?
Unless Spyrou is special then it's not a bunch that will improve us much anyway.
These go to eleven.

The one thing I've taken from this to try and put a positive spin on it is that if we had won, it could easily have papered over the cracks. Now Shez knows for definite that he has a load of bang average players, some of them thinking they're better than they are. It could be used as a massive motivator. Don't know how he can squeeze another tenner out of DA but he needs to get on his hands knees this morning.

not seen Spyrou but he had been scoring. Must have been an improvement on McKay who was useless

From what I have seen of Spyrou he would have certainly given us more options up front than Mckay

Spyrou is light years better than McKay, don't know why he didn't give Amantchi a go at half time. Poor decision making by Shez. He is paying the price for a threadbare squad.

All any opposition has to do is play down the channels because no-one is there to stop them, just unbelievable.

yeah. anyone scouting us would notice this and just attack us down the flanks all game (which is what we should be doing to other teams but we don't have the personnel). we're so narrow that when the opposition get the ball out wide they have so much time to cross the ball because it takes out centre mids/full backs so long to get over to them. really poor tactics by Sheridan. Worrying.

Pre season Spyrou, McKay and Manderville played very well together - Amanchi doesn't warrant a place atm The lad from Penistone looked better.
God I hate this league.
