I won two tickets via facebook for last nights comedy club. Brilliant I thought as its almost my birthday. A nice man contacted me asking for my number. Then nothing.
I was on facebook again and the same offer was there, share and like this post for 2 free tickets. So I asked if these were the tickets I was supposed to have won.
Nice man contacted me again explaining he had been off and someone would be in touch this week. Then nothing.
They really don't help themselves win supporters. I am not a regular by any means and it won't stop me going when I'm free but its another example of terrible customer service.

You should take the line I take. All free giveaways on Facebook are fake. I bet there are some folk still excited about winning a brand new Range Rover or a holiday in the Maldives.
Take these giveaways with a pinch of salt and dont waste your time sharing anything.

The free holidays in Centre Parcs is my favourite, on a clearly photo-shopped picture and an account thats usually existed a few hours!
I see grown, well-educated men on my friends list sharing them!

If we start blaming the club for all the nonsense on social media - it will become very tiresome !

You are right for a lot of them when its a gift card for a major supermarket, a holiday that someone has cancelled and cant be resold or items that cant be sold for whatever reason ranging from phones to motorhomes all usually done from an account that has a convenient full stop in the name, capital I for an l in the name or other tricks like that. However there are plenty of valid competitions from businesses that can be followed on social media. I have won various competitions on twitter including one for a £200 cricket bat from a cricket magazine, quite a few different gig tickets and my wife has won a couple of meals out at places. You just have to be sensible about what you are entering and apply the usual stuff about if it looks to good then it probably is.

It was thanks to one of these that I found out I had a distant relative in the Nigerian Royal Family who has left me a massive inheritance . I've sent off my bank details this week for the money to be transferred. Happy days
