If I understand correctly if we win this tournament/league we automatically qualify for championships next year, so it's a very big game to be resting players.

No S P. The winner gets a play off place if not already qualified at the end of the league qualifying stage. If the winner of the tournament qualifies out of their group then it goes to another team.

You can crow all you like about the bright new dawn under Southgate and the youngsters pushing on...the simple fact is that last year, in the WC, we would never ever have better chance of reaching the final without having to face the likes of Italy, Holland, Brazil, Germany, Argentina, Spain, Portugal, France etc etc. False manager with another false dawn, but hey, he looks good on the tube!

Fully agree mate. Last year we never played anyone until we faced Croatia. We know how that ended.

No it's not.

The point being made is that a very small minority are acting like idiots. That is a fact. No one is saying every England fan is up to no good, youre just being dramatic.

Dramatic is blaming politics for a few drunken yobs that you see in any town centre at the weekend

It's not blaming politics, it's stating that the current climate of a rise in support for people such as Tommy Robinson and Nigel Farage and their anti foreigner rhetoric has led to some people feeling enabled to display their xenophobic viewpoints, which may manifest into acting like dicks when in foreign countries

It's a simple fact that racist crime went up after the brexit vote as some idiots felt the vote legitimised their views and allowed them to no longer hide them

The country is seeing an increase in idiocy from both extremes whether it be nasty racist types like Robinson, or horrible shouty anti fascist types like her shouting at the demo who behave worse than the people they are supposed to be against!

Sums it up nicely.

And for balance I'd add that Corbyn's crew leading Labour has legitimised the latent anti-Semitism amongst the Left.
Never underestimate the stupidity of people

unfortunately the general rise in nationalist feeling and support for the likes of Tommy Robinson and Nigel Farage and their rhetoric was always going to lead to a rise in incidents like this

Isn’t “Tommy Robinson” the name of a notorious Luton hooligan from back in the day that he adopted?
