I’m not convinced that it’s owt to do with politics either. Just a bunch of men getting together getting smashed in the sun, bound to end in trouble.

Probably not....just seems one minority set of men getting smashed in the sun seem to feel the need to be pricks whilst far more are capable of doing it and enjoying themselves and not be pricks.

If anything has changed over my life time it is "respect".

Haven’t you ever got smashed in the sun? I have many many times and I cant ever remember causing any problems

It may not be anything to do with party politics but if as all to do with disrespect for foreigners and their culture.

To suggest the embarrassment taking place in Porto by a group of English buffoons is anyway politically motivated seems ludicrous.

They are not displaying any form of nationalism. They are drunk and showing off, chucking bottles about before running off because they are complete morons and that’s what football hooligans tend to do.

In the event that they were attempting to show support for the equally moronic Robinson and support ‘their’ country, I’m not sure Portugal is the place to do it.

After all, it’s widely believed that the treaty signed in 1386 between us and the Portuguese is the longest standing alliance still in force and, as far as I’m aware, we have been nothing but allies.

Hands up who new Portugal was our longest standing allies. I’ll put mine up, that’s why I can knock off a bottle of Port in one sitting just to celebrate it.

unfortunately the general rise in nationalist feeling and support for the likes of Tommy Robinson and Nigel Farage and their rhetoric was always going to lead to a rise in incidents like this

No it's not.

The point being made is that a very small minority are acting like idiots. That is a fact. No one is saying every England fan is up to no good, youre just being dramatic.

As are a large number of posters in this thread. They are just morons. No need for anyone to look for a reason or cause to attach their actions to. Just plain and simple morons.

Are there a number of regular starters absent from this England team apart from Kane?

It’s like the Champions League final. You can tell it’s over three weeks since most of these played.

If I understand correctly if we win this tournament/league we automatically qualify for championships next year, so it's a very big game to be resting players.

Could you automatically qualify when the qualifiers have already started?
