Exactly....Qatar is an absolute joke.Disrupting European football season.Massive back-handers involved from some very rich sheikhs. We've all suspected it.He's as bent as the other one,Blatter

it should never have been there for a whole host of reasons. If only there was a country (or close countries) with a plethora of top class stadia & decent infrastructure who could quickly take it off their hands for summer 2022....

To be fair, both Australia and USA lost out to Qatar - and both have the infrastructure to do it if they did take it off of Qatar

Aren’t USA jointly holding the next one? Australia might be a go-er but not sure what their stadium provision is like in terms of number of stadia available.

Plenty of Rugby/Aussie Rules/Cricket stadia that could be used

Unless Amnesty say there has been dramatic improvement in Qatar by 2022, I'm not watching a minute of that World Cup if it goes ahead there.
These go to eleven.

I had two separate days there in February & March, stop overs on flight to Oz, wouldn't be in a rush to go back, didn't appeal much at all apart from the weather and that's without the politics and human rights abuses

Englands chances of hosting the 2022 World cup have been slashed by the bookies, should Qatar have them taken off them,so i read today.

I think it’s a minor scandal that we’ve not had a World Cup since 1966 - let’s hope that rumoured home nations bid in 2030 comes off

One of the few places to have a worse human rights record than Mordor.

No way FIFA would take it off them, the financial fall out, claims etc from Qatar would banqrupt them.

In one way yes though there's only been 13 world cups since 66 and there's a lot more big countries than that

Yes but not necessarily with the stadiums and infrastructure, Germany & Mexico have had it twice since, the latter having part of 2026 too
