The steward who removed the offending fan does a good job, he waves towards the police for assistance but they don't budge, and he has to be delivered to where they are standing.

And then didn’t look that interested

Billyeald taken to arguing with their fans on Facebook now.....

I don't go near Facebook, but I'm sure he'll be giving them a great impression of CFC and it's fans. What an ambassador speaking on our behalf. I hope some of our real fans are posting to disown the idiot.

The lad who was escorted out and handed to the police also has rights to a counter allegation of assault by two of the ebbsfleet players after he is restrained by the steward. Also in the video is a further assault by an ebbsfleet player on a spectator. I am in no way condoning the pitch invasion but the ebbsfleet players along with the officials must be held to task by the FA for this event.

The players have a right to defend themselves if they feel they are under threat.
They should feel protected - the FA won't act on that-look at Mark Noble last season.
Any legal rep for Ebbsfleet just has to point out that a player was punched in he field of play at the B2Net a couple or so years ago and that proves lack of proper safety for players

What a ridiculous attempt to excuse idiots. The Ebbsfleet players, as far as I could see, had every right to protect their team-mate from further assaults. You seem to be forgetting that this all took place ON THE PITCH. The players didn't leave the pitch to go into the crowd and assault fans, it was the fans who entered the pitch to confront and assault the players.

Once supporters touch the goal or enter the goal mouth it gets a lot more serious in the eyes of the FA - I think a 3 point deduction and game behind closed doors this time

There were what, 12-15 fans out of around 4000 home fans involved in running on the pitch, 1 of which acted like a complete bell end. Punishing the innocent 4000 for the actions of a tiny minority by playing behind closed doors and deducting points? I doubt it.
If the same had happened at Old Trafford or Anfield do you think playing behind closed doors or deducting 3 points would even be considered?

You're a copper you must understand that's nonsense.
English football was put back generations after Heysel- the actions of a few % there- what's the miniority but got to do with it?

You add itimidation, alledged assault, alledged racial abuse and history into the equation, I wouldn’t be so confident.

When has the players behaviour ever been taken into account. We all know the root cause of the incident but with Ashmore playing the victim the FA won’t take action against him or his team mates.

The only Police there yesterday were some spotters. Dealing with the events on the pitch is the stewards job with the spotters there to gather evidence, thus the video equipment. If they start getting hands on then they can’t do their primary role.

They should have been told to return to their seats!

If you’ve ever been in a position faced with a large crowd either angry or over exhuberant, telling them to either sit down or go away is generally ignored. If there is an individual or only a couple it will generally work but once mob mentality takes over people generally just ignore what they are being told to do.

That’s not true. There were at least 2 normal cops there, the usual football ones.

You really can’t compare Heysel to yesterday.

Well there wasn’t any racial abuse and my point still stands, a tiny minority that have been caught in numerous videos who will get rooted out and rightly banned.

As opposed to the two with the video cameras.
The spotters are there as normal coppers.
Isn’t your role as police officers hopefully preventative? Standing round watching sends out such a positive public image.
