From quick research, 1997- Brighton were deducted two points after a pitch invasion (protesting against the closure of Goldstone Road). Blackpool were given a 3 points deduction in 2015, suspended.

Don't forget the PNE play off game when some of our players were threatened, that seemed to die a death, remarkably.

Having looked at the videos there doesn’t look to have been any physical assault on any players, and a few of our fans were man handled by their players. Also assuming Ashmore has played the race card again and cried wolf which others on here backed up is rubbish too then I can’t see ya getting anything more than a fine.

Blackpool invaded and got the game abandoned in 2015 and still didn’t get a points deduction. Preston invaded and did something very similar to us yesterday against us in the play offs and got nothing other than a couple of banning orders.

Fine and few bans is my prediction.

Read what I put earlier before you have a pop.
I'm just saying that celebrating a draw against Ebbsfleet is still acceptable!!

Apologies if misread the post due to not tying in the other messages.

I still think, and looking at the video's posted, the club could and should have done more to prevent any pitch invasion, the way NA had behaved throughout the 2nd half, winding the crowd up, making out he was getting abused, and generally wasting as much time as possible, added to the fact we were on the verge of a 3 goal comeback (when was the last time that happened), the stewarding in front of the kop was awful, why wasn't there a full line of stewards and police in front of the kop??

Dishonest of them to mention the Solihull pitch invasion without explaining that the causes and events were wholly different to this one.

A few hired heavies would do the trick (I’m sure the club management still have a few telephone numbers) but the netting wouldn’t have worked as everyone gathers at hoardings in the last 10 minutes. I can see that being stopped

back at saltergate many fans used to drift towards the top of the kop towards end of game as that was the way out, at proact the lay out dictates that people come down toward the pitch towards the end, mostly to no consequence, yesterday obviously the game was very much alive when we hit our 2nd on 82 mins, people just stayed where they were.

Good point, there was a few police about in the crowd control get up and yet they were nowhere to be seen towards the end of the game when they were needed. A few of them along the kop fence would have tempered the enthusiasm for an invasion from the idiots.

They should have been told to return to their seats!

The easiest way to stop that is to stop people congregating near the hoardings. Stewards need to tell people either go back to your seat or walk out. Don't just let then stand there.

Available on Facebook only at present. I am sure the Club might find it useful

The steward who removed the offending fan does a good job, he waves towards the police for assistance but they don't budge, and he has to be delivered to where they are standing.

Opposition time wasting caused increased edginess and the pitch invasion? Bo//ock$!

You can't blame time wasting or a poor referee for people jumping the boards and getting in the face of opposition players. Otherwise it would have happened every week, according to all the angry posts that's written on those subjects here after every game.

There's only one reason it happened; people chose to do it.

Maybe they should look inwards and think for a minute... if I can't control myself, stay in my seat and just watch a game of football, should I really be there?

Do you, being what I consider a coach with scrupples condone your fellow professional colleagues actions in engineering situations like yesterday?

In 50 odd years of watching football I've seen nowt like that. It was clear for all to see what the keeper was doing (crowd encitement), did his team mates (captain) try to discourage him? did the technical area try to discourage him? Two big fat nos there. The mantra being do what it takes to achieve "game management" (I hate that phrase lets just call it cheating). It's the club coaches that encourage this and also encourage players to take advantage or weak officials. People within the coaching profession should be asking questions why certain members of their profession are sinking so low and bringing the game/profession into disrepute?

The coaches are in charge of the players they have to take their fair share of the blame. What ever happened to the cliche "a professional footballer should be a role
model?"

I'm not detracting from our idiots involvement, we all know what should happen to them. Questions, however have to asked regards the standard of stewarding, surely they know who dicks are. Unfortunately the lino, probably on instructions from the ref. raised the issue of the gathering behind the goal appx. 5 minutes before the "invasion" with the 4th official (another incompetent). The lack of action by whoever was a bit disastrous.

Well looking at this video someone posted, the main culprit for going at Ashmore is sorted

I think there is plenty of footage on line that would sort this whole situation out.

You can’t condone the invasion yesterday, but the emotion of coming from 3-0 down when no one would have anticipated that & the fact that point could be crucial come the end of the season, it’s easy to get over excited in those situations

I had a pretty good view from my seat and I didn’t see any punches thrown by said supporter, he got right in the keepers face but didn’t strike him.
Still inexcusable behaviour that needs punishing, likewise the behaviour of various Ebbsfleet players this afternoon, all contributed to that final act.

Exactly my viewpoint aswell 👍

Just a fine? Well that’s alright then.
It’s about time some of the idiots on the kop grew up & started acting like human beings rather than extras from the football factory.

The idiot who shoved Ashmore could be charged with common assault which includes pushing (that he clearly does) and/or making threats of violence. Given that Ashmore is on the ground it's a viable argument that he was in a vulnerable position and therefore the push showed violent intentions. Personally hope he does get charged with a criminal offence and a lifetime ban. People like him are an embarrassment to other supporters of the club.

The steward who takes him off the pitch does superbly and should be acknowledged by the club for his actions.

The bigger worry is that Chesterfield already have a reputation for having somewhat boisterous supporters and we're now crossing the line into being seen as thugs. It's only a small minority but it's always a small minority with every club seen as problematic. We don't have a great reputation at the FA because of the running of the club, and this is only drawing more bad attention on us. I wouldn't be surprised if they make an example of the club.
