He's a winner, don't you know? Much like Martin Allen announced the same when he joined us...

Caldwell admits of his failures “Chesterfield was the only one I felt 'yep, it is the right decision, no progress here, I can't see a way out”.

To be hoped it’s the reporter who wrote for himself that questions were asked of Caldwell after a 5-1 defeat by Stoke City. If it was Gary, just for the record it was Crewe. Remembering where you are playing, little things like that, might have helped.

There can't be many less inspiring characters in football management than GC,whose analysis of team performances was from another planet. He lacked self awareness and seemed to have a ridiculously high opinion of his ability!

Classic CFC chaos.

The 'chief exec' - whom I'd guess was the same Carson who hired clueless Caldwell - tells him the owner's had enough...but then does a u-turn after the players intervene.

Only to confirm the sacking another defeat later.

As for his macho 'stuff your job' thing, it dun't really tally with reports of an emotional GC after the axe.

Best policy he can adopt is simply to say 'Well, it was Chesterfield, wasn't it'. I'm sure everyone'd understand...
Never underestimate the stupidity of people

Either managers are stupid and do not conduct any due diligence on Chesterfield FC, Dave Allen and Ashley Carson or they are coming here for the inevitable pay off.

Wiki on Gary Caldwell : On 17 January 2017, he was appointed manager of League One club Chesterfield on a one-year rolling contract,

Wiki on Chris Turner : He switched roles to director of football in January 2017, before he was made redundant two months later

So, a double strategic master plan by Carson.

However hapless Caldwell proved to be, reporting to the Chuckle Brothers couldn't have been easy.
Get it on, bang the gong , get it on

Possibly the wrong thread, but we've got to give enormous credit to the new sponsors who have proceeded in spite of the risk of Allen and Carson remaining in post. I wonder if they want any influnece on how their investnment gets spent? Wrong kit? Debt settlements? Redundancies? Fines? Clearing bird shiyte?

I see it is a five year agreement too. Sensibly they stopped at Technique, it will allow for some flexibility further down the line.

I remember thinking after the 5-1 at Stevenage that after an abject performance at the epitome of " **** ground, no fans " it could not possibly get worse.

Boy, was I wrong !!

Actually the 5-1 defeat was at Stevenage, then we lost at home to Crewe

Wasn't Lester the manager for those games not Caldwell. Caldwell was in charge for the 5-1 defeat at Crewe.
