Best Answer: I work for Experian credit reference agency,(UK)
No one can run a credit check on you without your consent.
However, company's can check with credit ref agency to verify your identity (electoral role) so if you have give any details of your address and or you have been using a credit card or debit card for gambling etc. Then this would explain the search, also note, they do not have access to your financial status if only requesting information for the purpose of ID checking.
Plenty of people could run a credit check without your consent. It may not be legal but it could still be done

Yep, all it would take is to have a super friendly bank manager. How many people though would be thick enough to run one without my consent but then brag about it?

In what context did the individual make the claim and were any reasons given as to why a credit check had been conducted on the messageboard member, do you know?
Yes I’m aware. I have made contact with the individual involved and if they have no objections with me putting it publically I will do. I have seen pretty much all the correspondence.
If you wish to discuss this privately for the time being then PM me.

'Loyalty'?
Perhaps Biggs can explain how 'loyal' Dave Trump was when quitting so publicly?
And I wonder how 'loyal' Biggs will be when those he sickeningly supports have gone...

He's a sickly waste of time....you've only got to look how he was sucked in by L Suttcliffe to know what a Brown noser he really is.

He wrote the piece a so-called professional like Biggs - and many of his ilk - should've written some time ago.
Respect.

I'm afraid all the pats on the back may necessitate a Calvin Plummer's Socks' diagnosis.
I'm still not sure we deserve the Most Miserable award. But we are definitely nominees.

Hmmm, now trying to backtrack seeking to say his initial comment wasn't critical of Matt the Author or those who share Matt's views, well he sure fooled me.

I’ve not read the thread about who has run one or why I was just posting that it can be done. You don’t have to be a bank or lending institution to run a check btw. There are plenty of organisations who could run checks, possibly not get the full file but certainly giving you details of loans outstanding, direct debits, missed payments, phone contracts etc etc
