I don't claim to know the details of our budget, but as a lot of posters seem to claim MA is well backed, it's maybe worth thinking about again.

It seems to me that the players whose wages would most likely have been the highest, have mostly been moved on or loaned out. At least, I presume their wages would have been substantial as their contracts were based on being EFL footballers in Division 1 & 2.
Whilst Anyon, JBW & Weir are still here, and are presumably on high wages relative to the NL norm (and MA would probably rather not have them).

So is it not likely that the budget has shrunk in real terms since the start of the season? We are paying off and subsidising (loans) players that are not here, and have (presumably) signed dplayers since the start of the season on lower wages. Added to which, we are stuck with three under contract players, probably among the higher earners, who we'd probably like to dispose of.

I’ve suspected the figure, whatever it is, to be not quite in line with reality for a good while.
An entrance of £xxx in the heavily-abridged outgoings is a perfect place to hide a bevy of payments, whatever they may be (although that wouldn’t happen at CFC)
Whatever this year’s budget truly is, I’d suggest a significant chunk went on paying up contracts of former players.
What’s left probably didn’t / doesn’t allow us to pick from the top of the tree, in fact I’d go as far as suggesting the current crop of players are on a pittance and are clinging to professional football because that’s all that life will allow them to do.
If I was as poor in my job as some of our players, I would be looking for an alternative career but, for many of our players, they’re probably not up to collecting the trolleys from Tesco’s car park and are taking whatever money they can get.
This is speculation of course but I’d hate to think big wages are going to any of the current squad.

The living wage is £7.82 an hour if they are on more than that we are getting done over.

You pay peanuts you get monkeys. And this lot, apart from Carter in my eyes , are not worth a packet of peanuts between them. I wasn’t inspired by his signings preseason and got heavily slated for saying so. Admittedly after 3 games i was happy to say ok, i could be wrong. After 13 games i think conclusively I was right

Maybe need to factor in parachute payment paying up released players when looking at playing budget?

I was surprised they claimed it cost only £150K to pay the players off prior to Barry and Ugwu departing. That still leaves £300K to be wasted of this years parachute payment.
