Like anywhere it matters where you go. It's a very long country. North is very different from the south.
Do you stay city/town centres or outside in small resorts? Etc

We do city breaks as well as beach resorts. Just got back from Kassiopi Corfu and off to Riga in September.Would be looking at a beach resort for next year.

Just when I was thinking of trying to go should we make the final I dig out my passport and see it expired last month.

Thought they looks good in the group stages but the 2 knockout games they've been average. We won't ave a better chance for some time..

I thought the same during the group stages too, but like you say, looked average since.

From your experiences do you have any recommendations for resorts that have a sandy beach, gently shelving into the sea? By that time I'll have a 5 year old and an 11 month old.

I fancy us strongly, Croatia struggled last night and looked a bit toothless up front, they may have done their best work early on in the tournament, the stats don't favour us winning as 17 of 20 world cups have been won by teams who went unbeaten, I'm just discounting the Belgium game as it was a 2nd string team..been a great tournament for us whatever but I'd love to see us in a final.

You're right to discount the meaningless Belgium game, so the England 'first' team is still unbeaten.

Croatia have some great players but Mandzukic probably spends more time on his backside than any other player in the tournament and I fail to see how he has had the career he has had.
These go to eleven.

Certainly not Croatia. We took our granddaughters (2 and 4) to Salou, Spain, back in May. We think that it's an excellent family friendly resort where it's generally clean, dry and warm too. Large expanses of sandy beach. Reasonable prices.

Fairly reliable goalscorer who works his ass off for the team. Probably one of the best players in the world in the air as well.

I can't help associating Salou with food poisoning following that severe outbreak years ago,its strange how things stick in your mind for no real reason .

To be fair his record speaks for itself, he’s clearly an effective player.

So did I for a few years tbh, but we've since been 4 times over the past 16 years.

My household will be a 'war zone' after the match Whoever wins. Life will be intolerable for a week if we lose since SWMBO is Croat in addition to my stepson.

I think they will have a lot of the ball, but if we can keep Rakitic and Modric quiet we can beat them. Thought they looks good in the group stages but the 2 knockout games they've been average. We won't ave a better chance for some time..

As SWMBO is a Croatian national, I can highly recommend the country Trogir beautiful, but plenty of other good stuff, and very proud of their country...

More importantly, Tomislav is a great beer
