So the first casualty is Mcalinden the first move in pee ing MA off

this thing is dragging us down, this deal has been imminent (which means about to happen) for 3 or 4 days at least now, if the potential buyers don't have the funds time to leave it alone and lets move on or could it be the club were waiting to get past the tommy lee game and open evening and then let the new owners in quietly on Friday...

I was getting quite upbeat about the coming season with a decent manager generating some interest. Now I'm getting those same depressive thoughts the last 2 or 3 seasons have given me. That season ticket could be getting parked if they bring a no hope inexperienced manager in. No we don't want a Brian Deane, Chris Waddle type thank you very much. We had that with JL and we were relegated because of it. It's a flawed business model if that's where they go.

They're not exactly successful business men. My impression is they've not got much money and have been passing round the hat for the last few months raising a deposit. They could be taking a gamble of going up so they can sell at a profit. I have a horrible feeling the club is being used for purposes beyond creating a successful side. Love to be proved wrong but local millionaires are in short supply.

Unless they are genuine fans of the club, the nature of capitalism will take its course. BTW What came of the fans wanting to buy the club?

I think this football club is where it's at for one simple reason: 'there's summat in it for me'.

I think we've seen a succession of schemers, chancers and opportunists because 'there's summat in it for me'.

I think they were at best tolerated and at worst embraced because 'there's summat in it for me'.

I think a load of loyal Town folk have been replaced because 'there's summat in it for me'.

I think cronies, incompetents and amateurs were hired because 'there's summat in it for me'.

Infact I think the whole CFCFDS disaster happened because 'there's summat in it for me'.

Can't really prove any of it but it's just what I think.

So when I see an ex-con, septuagenarians associated with scandal and mysterious characters with no discernible wealth apparently wanting a gig at Town I ask a very simple question: what's in it for them?

And that's where the big question comes in, do you starve them out and risk short term pain for long term gain or do you feed the leeches in the hope they grow fat enough and move on and something decent comes along instead? I and many others have had enough of seeing undeserving chancers walk away with town folks hard earned as the club slides towards non existence so it's time for the former imo. We can't just keep letting them make a mockery of us time after time after time.
If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything!

And the latest gossip doing the rounds on Twitter is that the take-over has fallen through!

Let's hope so. Now hopefully M A can get back to finding us the last few pieces of the puzzle.

If so, probably as a result of the due diligence performed by BB posters.

Top post.
No one will ever know whether Turner paid himself a salary as a Director of the PPP.

Would any WIIFM merchants ever be so stupid as to force out a successful manager? Surely not. It would be self defeating wouldn't it?
Get it on, bang the gong , get it on

Tell that to those on here who said that wouldn’t have happened.
To quote the main himself
I’m sure none of you could ever imagine me working under a director of football, telling me who I can and can’t sign and what I should and shouldn’t be doing and it would not have suited me one little bit.

Maybe not. But do you honestly think a new consortium haven't spoke to MA? Do you think that MA hasn't demanded answers from DA and the new consortium?

See above.
