If I was a gambling man, I would bet there is.

Caldwell brought him in not long after he started. 21 years as a youth coach at Manchester City, 6 months as Rochdale manager, coach at Huddersfield including caretaker manager

To clarify, originally on a short term contract til the end of the season, then was given a 'permanent' contract only a few week go.

left by 'mutual consent' apparently. I can only think that Eyre was brought in as assistant because Barrow at the time was not available.

I can only think the plan, once Barrow became available, was to bring him in and Eyre was always going to bite the dust.

Graham was 'sacked' at the end of May, once Cook was announced.

Steve Eyre's short term deal 'until the summer' was only made a permanent one in recent weeks.

you see, where you've gone wrong is assuming that there has ever been a plan involved where CFC is concerned.

and for 'mutual consent' read 'accepted a favourable pay off to go quietly'

edit: Apologies, Eyre was made permanent 2 weeks prior to Barrow becoming available - However, you'd think he would have known if he was likely to get the job full time or not at Wigan so should have had a fair idea of his own availability.

I'm not so sure about him being made permanent just weeks ago as it was announced in May

From memory, and in no particular order, we've seen...

..Carol Wilby, John Sheridan and his staff, Gary Cooke, several of Paul Cook's entourage, 'Addooco IT', Ant Haywood, Dean Saunders and his staff, Kevin Fitzgerald, Richard Nichols, Peter Clark, Danny Wilson and his staff, Chris Turner, four loyal and long-serving Boardmembers, Rodger Wylde and now 'man of a hundred days(ish)' Steve Eyre all leave Sheff Road with various pay-off packages.

So perhaps Ashley Carson can now tell us how much that's cost the Club. Y'know, to the nearest million, like...

its ridiculous and doubtlessly costing us dearly

asking fans to turn out then hiring and firing and drafting compensation packages - the sooner we find a buyer the better

Steve Eyre leaving just months after he apparantly signed a new permanant contract shows imo that Caldwells loyalty to Graham Barrow is greater than his for Eyre

As they say thats football
