Think you're getting your academies mixed up.
If he's part of the Youth Team then he is fine to play in the Checkatrade as was Iffy Ofegbu and the rest of the first and second years.

Fortunately we are no longer associated with the other academy (FBT) officially so the only academy we can talk about is the CFC Academy (U8-U16).
